Boone is mad as hell. He told the boys there would be no ice cream on the flight home.

He since relented and only disallowed chocolate ice cream.

The games are unwatchable. Play down to bad opponents, roll over vs good ones. A manager is expected to get the most out of his team. Boone has gotten the least. Fire the ever living f*** out of Aaron Boone and promote Phil Nevin. The guys is a hard ass who already has the team’s respect. He won’t be a pushover.

"Fire the ever living f*** out of him." Nicely put.

Boone will most likely be the first to go. The perception is that the team has underachieved with him as manager. While that is probably true , there is another factor. A number of Yankee players , and the team in general, are simply not as good as they were cracked up to be. And the roster construction is one dimensional. And that is on Cashman. There have been numerous mistakes made. It's not all on Boone. But he will be the first casualty.

If Cashman wants to keep his job, he needs to prove that the team is better than they are. This would be to change the manager. If the manager changes and the team gets better, than Cashman is validated. If the team continues to be a 84 win team, then Cashman goes too

Pitiful series. At least the first two games were close, but yesterday was embarrassing. If this happened in August I might say the Yanks are toast, but still a lot of baseball to be played. Can the team turn it around? They keep giving us a glimpse of what they could be, and then they fall flat on their faces when they have a chance to get close in the division. I'll still be watching, but every passing week I find myself a little more interested in their farm and a little less interested in the actual MLB team.

As much as I'd like to agree with some that the Yankees are toast, there is far too much of the season remaining to count the Yankees out. As we've already seen many times this season, one or two weeks can make all the difference in the world.

Even though the lineup is too heavily right handed, the Yankees do have a lot of talent on the team. IMO, much of this falls on Boone. He looked genuinely stressed and concerned last night. It will be interesting to see how management responds.

The team has become unwatchable. They can’t move runners, they don’t hit to situations and they seem to lead the league in solo home runs. They absolutely suck with runners on base. It’s like everyone coming to the plate is in a home run derby. That’s on the hitting coach and the manager. The fundamentals of this team suck. When the Yankee dynasty was in effect, every AB was a grind, they hit to situations and they never seemed to make mental mistakes. This team is the exact opposite.

There is a lot of season left , but the Yanks need to turn it around soon and they have shown no signs that they can do that. There is no sense of urgency . Once you reach the dog days of August , if you are not in contention , you just start playing out the string.

The Yankees are actually third in MLB in solo home runs, trailing Toronto and Minnesota. However, they are 24th in MLB in home runs with men on base with 34, giving them a comfortable 21 home run lead in that split over Vlad Guerrero Jr…

I can certainly understand the frustration that comes after having such lofty expectations, but I also think it is clear some of the players just are not as good as everyone thought they were.

All you guys had to do was stay in it until Sevy returned.

It is strange to see a Yankees lineup where the only LHB is Brett Gardner, who is sporting a .195 BA. I guess this will be the final season for Gardner, I don't see the Yankees bringing him back and no one else will want him. Yankees fans should give Gardner a warm goodbye at the end of the season, he has been a pretty good player over the years.

Interesting, the Mets are playing the Yankees over the July 4 weekend. The Mets will want to show everyone that they are now the kings of New York, and they will want to kick the Yankees while they are down. It should be exciting to watch. I'm assuming Degrom will pitch one of those games, which is basically an automatic win for the Mets. Degrom v. Cole would be interesting to see.

If they were counting on Sevy that was just another mistake.

It all comes down to Cashman. He has carte blanche on all personnel moves. He put this team together with shaky roster construction and he hired Boone to be his yes-man manager.

He signed Kluber and Taillon and he traded for Odor.

He left Whitlock unprotected.

He has absolutely lost his touch.

Bill Madden’s article says it all. Wake up Hal. It’s one thing if we all knew this team wasn’t gonna be good. But that’s absolutely not the case. This team was supposed to be in the WS

I feel for you guys as fans. I really do. I don't know why, but I do. Not that I want you to start winning. LOL

I agree with you've posted. Why someone hasn't really gotten on the hitters to stop swinging for the fences every at bat is beyond me.

I guess Cashman has adamantly stated that he will not fire his manager midseason.

You guys are stuck with Boone.

I’ve thought Boone and Cashmsn should have been canned long ago.

That being said, Cashman built a team everyone thought was much better than this. The lefty unbalanced thing may be overblown as the lefty-righty splits are about equal.

GMs are ultimately judged in hindsight and this is no different.

Still surprised Boone has a job.

I’d fire him today and bring in the extremely underrated Rick Renteria…

I would agree the left-right thing is a little overblown.

Their offense stinks because:

-One-dimensional approach.

-Not hitting with RISP.

-Guys like Torres and Frazier have been mammoth disappointments (which many Yankee fans blame on management for screwing around with them).

-Zero help from outside the org or the farm. Cash brings in guys like Bruce and Odor and they're awful.

You have to wonder about Chapman. Didn't he have Covid-19 recently? If anyone wants to see highlights of this highly entertaining game--the Yankees scored 7 in the first, the Angels scored 7 in the ninth--you can watch them here, the ninth inning Chapman implosion begins at the 14:08 mark.

I've just learned that Hal Steinbreener will be talking to the media on Thursday on a Zoom chat. That should be interesting given what has happened to the Yankees over the last week.

Wait, What? Did the Yankees lose? Oh boy! Lol

They scored like 7 runs early in the game then it was a rain delay and the lead as long as I remember was for 3-4 runs I guess so I went to sleep lol I thought they had an easy win. Wow! Have to watch this implosion.

Geez this happened to the Cubs as well but not in the 9th.

This could be the biggest choke of the Yankees in modern history I guess.
