@CraigMish

As @JesseRogersESPN reported the Marlins have plans to bus players who tested positive back to Miami. However, none of them are going home. I can report they are going to a single isolated quarantine location.

Now, THAT'S a party bus!

And what does the biggest idiot on the planet believe?

@BenVolin

Cancel the MLB season and do an 8-team super tournament involving the Red Sox, Yankees, Mets, Cubs, Cardinals, Astros, Dodgers and Giants. Who says no?

Oh, LOLOLOL....

Breaking: MLB commissioner Rob Manfred told MLBPA executive director Tony Clark on Friday that if the sport doesn’t do a better job of managing the coronavirus, it could shut down for the season, per @JeffPassan

You cannot trust a group of macho 20-somethings to abide by anything. You monitor and force them to. MLB thought all the players would drop in line. Whereas the NBA created a bubble. The NBA will finish their season intact. They’ll also be able to start in the spring with zero issues as they have become the gold standard. MLB, again, is the laughingstock of sports

If MLB had any f***ing balls, they’d have commandeered a baseball facility on the east and west coast. Split the central in two by geography. There’s now an eastern and a western conference. The eastern conference goes to X training facility. The Western conference goes to Y training facility. These facilities are gated with guards, etc. You can leave, but you have to sign out.

Have day games, evening games and night games on all fields. Boom, season uninterrupted

Manfred is getting more anxious by the day . He may well pull the plug on the season any day now.

Reports are coming out now that Manfred is telling the networks to get alternate programming ready. The season is about to be officially cancelled. Any day now...

Red Sox fans secretly hoping Manfred puts them out of their misery should follow us diehards and root for this sprint to at least get to September. We can endure an entire month of August with no pitching, but another entire season of this summer might follow in 2021 if the Sox don't hit that reset button.

In the meantime -- it's baseball -- and we can cheer the new guys or watch the young guys evolve (while us old guys devolve)...

I do t think that any of us are cheering for the season to be cancelled but if it does continue it will just spiral out of control. ERod is now officially done for 2020. As far as the Red Sox are concerned, this season is just a dress rehearsal for 2021. I wouldn’t mind some baseball in 2020, no question but Manfred will probably make the right call and cancel it in short order.. probably next week.

I don't doubt that, but I also don't trust Yahoo. Their sports opinions over the last 5 months have been very reactionary and often misguided

Time to bring up our best prospects and let them sink or swim.

Seeing pitchers get injured almost daily. They just didn't have the proper preparation for this season. Now , they are trying to ramp it up and it is too much strain. Just another problem with this crazy season. Is there really a good reason ( other than money ) to continue it ?

A lot of them may not have done enough during the shut down to stay in shape. Pitchers get hurt a lot during a normal season too. Everything is magnified now. I hope they make it until at least August 31st for Sox sake. It will make a huge difference for next year's team.

Manfred wants it to continue. They Yankees and Cubs are doing good. It has to continue.

Well, the BRUINS are playing today and if you think the SOX have been putting you to sleep, the BRUINS aren't going to be your cup of coffee.

Celtics played a fun one today

It’s all about safety and I do not think mlb can protect the players, coaches and umpires.

Time to call the season and end this experiment before things get really bad.

Definitely need to protect the SOX pitching staff before they get killed on the mound.

Enjoy the last day of baseball for 2020 everybody

Manfred is going to try to keep this s*** going as long as possible.

NEW YORK (AP) — Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred said he's confident his sport can get through the regular season and postseason without being stopped by the coronavirus, though not every club might play all 60 games and winning percentage could be used to determine playoff teams.

During an interview Saturday, Manfred said Major League Baseball knows which player introduced COVID-19 into the clubhouse of the Marlins Marlins. Miami and Philadelphia both postponed games for an entire week.

"I think that if everybody does what they are supposed to do, we can continue to play, have a credible season and get through the postseason," Manfred said.

"It is what the public health experts have been saying from the beginning about this, that there is no one big magic fix," Manfred said.

"The protocols are a series of little things that people need to do. We've had some problems. In order to be better, it's another series of little things. I think it's peer pressure. I think it's players taking personal responsibility. I think it's the union helping us like Tony Clark helped us yesterday. And I think it's us managing more aggressively," he said.

Still, he does expect more issues.

"I don't think it's realistic to think that we're not going to have any more positive tests," Manfred said. "We're going to be fluid. We think it's manageable."

Honestly, if the season doesn't get to 8/31, Manfred is probably getting fired unless he can reset the Sox luxury tax issues. If MLB plays a month of games and then Henry has to go through another offseason to reset the luxury tax, he'll have Manfred's head on a platter.

and if the Dodgers, Cubs and Yankees are all in prime position to make a title run and he cannot find a way to keep it going, he will be done as well
