Note to self: remember to never listen to Bob Nightengale. You already learned this a long time ago, idiot.

@Chandler_Rome

Two sources with knowledge of the situation say there's no confirmation that the Astros will hire Dusty Baker as their manager.

@BNightengale reports Houston will choose Baker, the three-time Manager of the Year winner who has won more than 1,800 games

what does Beltrans niece twitter account say? i'll go with that...

@ChrisCotillo

Sox were rumored to have interest in Meulens earlier in the process.

@Feinsand

says they're "in the thick" of interview process, though no names have leaked out.

I believe you're thinking of Bobby Kielty.

Kielty has the home run in game 4 of the 2007 WS.

Kotsay had the big triple in the 8th inning game 5 of the 2008 ALCS (a game the Sox trailed 7-0 in the 7th while facing elimination) and scored the tying run on a single by Coco Crisp on roughly the 115th pitch of the at bat.

I hope that clears this up...

Mark Kotsay is rumored to be under consideration. Where is the vomit emoji.

Why is Kotsay a bad choice?

Posted
I'm guessing it's because 700 thinks of him as a s***** player LOL

I don’t even think of him that way. He was a good role player and fourth outfielder and he had one of the strongest arms I’ve ever seen. Also one of the hottest wives...

And Cody Ross was the one on the s***** team?

How do you guys keep track of this nonsense?

I know. It's a sad state that with Kotsay, his two most memorable accomplishments are having a hot wife and a pig Latin name...

Cody Ross was on the 2012 Red Sox, a team that was doomed the second they named Bobby Valentine the manager.

Kotsay had that triple in one of my favorite and most exciting post-season comebacks I have ever seen...

Well, yeah, coming back from down 7-0 in an elimination game against the Rays was right up there. Too bad about that Game 7.

Only if he retires, first and then we sign him as a manager/consultant for the same money spread out over 30 years. Lower the LUX TAX!

Good thing we on the internet are so much more clever than any of the lawyers representing the Players Union. He could also retire and have the RS hand him a check for a few 10s of millions, you know, under the table? They'd never figure that out either. Or why not just restructure ALL contracts--paying the players half what they're making now, with the rest handed over in unmarked bills? Luxury tax problem solved.

@BuckinBoston

Just heard

@DaleEArnold

suggest the new Red Sox manager could drive The Truck to Florida. I like that idea. Have the press conference on Truck Day, all the stations go live as he honks the horn and drives off.

Dale, thank you for reading our posts!

Of course it "may in fact" (!) be happening. A giant earthworm "may in fact" be under Fenway Park right now, preparing to swallow it up. As you say, "who knows?"

not possible. the giant mechanical spider would have killed it already.

you dont find it possible that a FO in baseball has bent the salary rules?

like we would ever see a team hack another teams computer system?
