Cora needs to tell ERod that he’s going 6 tonight, whether he gives up 1 run or 15. His choice which.

Of course, that assumes any message Cora might relay would get through that thick head of Rodriguez.

That pitch was outside. The catcher framed it and the umpire fell for it. Huge missed call.

The earlier pitch was outside, too.

With Erod's and luis Ortiz's "command/control" this game could set the time record (longest) for a 9 inning game.

I believe when the Pawtucket bus brings Travis to Boston, it stays parked outside Fenway to deliver him back to Pawtucket. Speaking of which, Travis must be getting close to the limit of times he can be yo-yoed.

i actually wondered how they travel between Boston and Pawtucket. I suspect they drive their own cars, and DD meets them at the gate with paperwork for 3 day parking in a nearby garage.

They can send him back and forth as often as they want. It's all on the same option I think.

Talksox commenters need to reconsider the true value of Erod. He's our winningest pitcher, the team wins most times he strats, even if Ed doesn't get the win, He's leading tonight, holding the O's to one run in half of a Quality Start. What's not to like ?

It's really sort of shame that there is no real consistent way to move Vaz up in the order. As I pointed out the other night, this year X and Vaz are far and away the best same handed hitters we have, (in their case meaning hitting v RH pitchers). Bunching hits is often about having your best same handed hitters mixed with the off handed hitters such that they gets hits on top of hits.

Some guys do better down in the order than they would if they were put higher. Vaz is fine where he is at. Its important to have production at the bottom of the lineup also.

There is no practical way to do it. The Sox are going to wait for JD to get hot before they move him around. The Sox might trade Mookie off between the 1 hole and the 2 hole. But that is as far as that is going to go. If there was a practical way to do it with this team and this lineup, frankly I would not give a rats behind about the bottom of the order. If you can't bunch hits, you don't score enough as we have already seen on multiple occasions. There is just no way to do it here.

One thing I would surely do is that any time Chavis is considered for the 6 hole in the order....NOPE....Vaz would be there in my order.

Pearce when he comes back would not find himself ahead of Vaz in my order either.
