Oooh. Too bad I wagered heavily on that Daily Double. I’ll take “Humility” for $1,000, Alex...

DHern has had an underwhelming year so far in AA. Casas started raking in May and hasn't stopped. Durran has slowed down since getting to AA, but needs time to adjust.

Duran will be fine as long as he can maintain his .471 BABIP.

I did completely forget about Casas. He was an obvious choice...

First DD needs to light a fire under Cora who then needs to light a fire under the team. You can’t do anything about physical errors, like Devers dropping a ball, but you can’t have the guys playing stupid or not playing hard. Right after Betts loafed a single into a double, on the next hit, he threw the ball to a different area code from home plate when he had no chance of getting the runner. The ball went to the backstop, where no one was backing up the throw. They were running the bases on that play like we were a little league team.

Cora sat sat in the dugout with no urgency when Hernandez suddenly and completely lost the plate. No one made a mound visit when he started walking the ballpark. He needed to be slowed down if nothing else. Then he took out Brewer right away to put in Poyner who he left out there like helpless prey and the game blew up. Cora has at times sat passively as other games have gotten out of hand. Last year, he was on top of every detail, but this year he has seemed complacent. Even how he got himself thrown out of the game yesterday was lame. Managers don’t have a lot of opportunities to engage umps in the age of the replay. When he left the dugout, it was obvious that he was going to get thrown out. He should have got his money’s worth and been more demonstrative to charge up his dugout. The other manager got tossed with more flair. He had his dugout engaged. Cora needs a kick in the ass and he needs to kick the clubhouse in the ass.

One thing to consider with Cora’s bullpen management is that he doesn’t have the guns to go to like he did last year. It’s easy to call for a pitcher to be removed from the game, but when your best options right now are Workman and Hembree, it’s easy to forget these were the #5 and #6 options less than a year ago...

Remy thought Cora did a good enough job in getting tossed. I don't think it was with "less flair" than the Rangers coach. If the bench wasn't engaged, that's on them. You had Beni yelling f bombs from the top of the dugout though. I think they were pretty engaged.

Duran is a battler . Might be a heavy hitter . The word on him defensively is that he has " hands of stone ."

I don't know where you are getting the word from, but it's probably wrong.

Potential above-average to plus defender. Still raw; needs to continue developing in the outfield after switching from second base during his pro debut. Initially showed a slow first step in the outfield, struggling with initial reads. Was able to make up for that due to his speed, but clearly wasn’t comfortable. Initially moved to right field, where line to plate is similar to second base, before converting full-time in 2019 to center field, where his speed could allow him to develop tremendous range. Long-term, has the speed and athleticism teams covet for center field. At second base, showed soft hands and fluid actions, though athleticism was somewhat wasted.

Beni was engaged after he hit 1B. LOL!! Umps were completely whacked out last night. I still think Cora could have put on a better show. I thought the Woodward put on a better show.

After posting a 103-58 regular-season record and winning the 2016 World Series, the highly regarded 2017 Chicago Cubs were 34-34 after 68 games en route to a 92-70 record and an eventual berth in the National League Championship Series.

Perhaps it's too early to push the panic button.

Or not.

You can't teach timely hitting.

You can't trade for timely hitters.

No manager can inspire timely hitting.

It just has to happen... and sooner rather than later.

I am waiting for somebody to post some convoluted set of stats proving that two times zero is actually not zero .

I'm not sure two times zero is even a real calculation. Zero is just zero and can't be multiplied. :)

It does seem weird that a million times zero is equal to zero times zero.

But 1,000,000^0 = 1.

Those whacky math guys...

That's why I say it's not even a real thing. Zero is a void. You can't do anything with it.

My calculator does seem to think it can multiply by zero...

Yes, that result can be trusted.

Ok. I had my questions because my calculator also believes in Bigfoot, a slew of Illuminati conspiracy theories, and everything it sees on “Ancient Aliens.”

It might be time for a new calculator....

A calculator that's into “Ancient Aliens” is pretty damn cool.

see what it tells you when you do the following:

16,017 x 5 = ?

Something tells me you don’t expect a numerical answer there...

They gave up 9 runs last night.

Their bullpen blew the game the night before, twice.

They gave up 6 runs 2 nights ago.

Thats the offenses fault?
