No news yet. He’s missed time with the elbow the last two seasons. 2017, he missed half the season and couldn’t build up. 2018, he missed two weeks and was right back where he left off. Right now, who knows

Yep, and the operative word is pitcher.

 

Too many "fans" assume that every player on a lousy team sucks. They don't.

 

The ultimate example I ever saw was Steve Carlton and the 1972 Phillies. For you youngsters, the 72 Phillies were 59-97 that strike shortened season; Carlton went 27-10 for them.

After watching the BRUINS advance in the PO's, I watched this dull excuse for a baseball game. Means proved again that good pitching will beat good and bat hitters, which the SOX have a fair share of both. It also magnified how bad the White Sox pitching was. Maybe the SOX FO could put a package together of JBJ and Josh Smith and put that package in a helicopter and drop it in the Charles River. Seriously though, Josh is still a young man and a career change is something he should truly consider. Weber, OTOH, for a pitcher who came through the SOX organization, was better than the usual flotsam they come up with.

I still believe Pearce will come around with the bat eventually, but that could just be wishful thinking.

Okay this is the second straight game where he haven't followed mojo protocol. Come on people, we're better than this.

I actually thought Smith pitched decent for the amount of time he was out there. No pitcher deserves to see that pile of s*** swing at that pitch end up deposited in the center field stands. That was a just make contact swing.... no weight shift, no nothing. Just dropped the head from a completely balanced stance front to back and a ball that maybe should have not even been a long fly ball just flew over the Center Field fence.

 

If this is the game MLB wants guys like Smith just won't survive at all. Even hitters won't survive as true hitters. Just get the ball in the air off any part of the barrel and take what you can get. We will get guys hitting fungo and broadcasters raving about their greatness. That should be exciting. So much for a multi-demensional game.

I didn't think Smith was that bad, considering where he's coming from. Weber did a good job. Our pitching, on the whole, held the Os to 4 runs. The Sox offense should be able to overcome that. Three lousy hits all night. None after the 5th inning, if I'm not mistaken.

 

Oh well. Shake it off and win tonight.
