There goes a chance for a 4 game winning streak. Terrible error by Devers and Braiser lets a .176 hitter take him deep. Wow! No magic this year.

You think they turned the corner and this s*** happens. This team can’t afford brutal losses like the one tonight.

Barnes. You’re good.

Devers glove truly sucks.

That said as a closer you have to be able to navigate base runners.

Brazier gave him a cookie for the HR

Rafi is talented...that is his saving grace. All he has to really learn (apparently the hard way) is that none of this horse crap he does out there in the field works as well as always being in position to make a play, good footwork and smooth glove action. Never mind the exaggerated scoop. Impresses nobody up here Rafi.

Brasier is a joke. He's not made to close. They try to make his job easier with Barnes uusally acting as a fireman against the middle of the order.

We have all the momentum in the damn world and this ******* devers f***s up a routine play.

Devers was a complete moron. 9th error for him and Brasier sucked. It’s what the Sox do this year. Start getting momentum and mess it up.

Probably would have been different if Devers makes a routine play to make it two outs and no one on. The error gave the White Sox life. Still no excuse for the homer.

Agreed. Both painful that just shouldn’t have happened. Snatched all the momentum away completely losing to a dog s*** team like this.

Brasier has been thrown into the deep end of the pool. This is the way the Sox planned it. So we are going to have to live with it. It is a bit much to expect him to deal with closer leverage AND know how to dig himself out of the emotional hole of having a fielder just boot the flying f*** out of a play like that. Hopefully he will get it. Don't see this infield getting much better anytime soon unless the Sox bring somebody in to shore it up. Not recommending that. But this is going to be tough to watch for awhile I fear.

This game is so hard to play which is why folks here often see me reluctant to see the Sox bring kids up and just throw them into the deep end of the pool. We see so many seasoned pro players play this game and they make it look so easy that it lulls us into thinking this game is easy. Its not....far from it. Rafi is trying...sometimes too hard. Sometimes not hard enough and infielders who are caught either side of perfect make errors. Its just that simple. Don't charge a ball at all and you let the ball play you into an error. Charge the ball too hard and you play the ball into an error. Rush and release your throw from a bad position and you throw it into the ground. Crow hop your way across the diamond and you are late or throw it into the loge seats. It is the most maddening game in the world from all aspects until you learn to prepare, breath and play the game with smooth, measured intensity. Edited by jung

Or he’s just a s*** fielder 😉

He’s on pace for 45 errors!

Get me Kimbrel!!

As if Kimbrel never gave up a HR to s***** hitter before.

My God I dont understand the hate for Brasier. Before the game started he had a 1.69 ERA and a .88 whip. And if it wasn't for Devers with his million errors he would have sealed the deal

The White Sox are a gritty team. They took 2 of 3 from the yanks, albeit I have no idea what to expect from my squad as they (if they) get healthy. But they battle and at the very least, their pitchers have great stuff. That being said, Devers is the main culprit that inning. If he makes that routine play, it’s 2 outs, nobody on and the architecture of the inning changes. Brasier got snakebit by the kid.

Game ran too late, so I went to bed with the Sox up 4-3. But I saw the replays of the error and the dinger that killed us. The error was huge although I agree with Jung's thoughts on Devers.

Brasier to me is still a better closer than Kimbrel. Better stuff, better control, better attitude about being used early, etc. Kimbrel is a prima donna, which is why no one else has signed him.

No, I think it's the price tag and the concerns about declining stuff.

We were bound to lose a game like this at some point. The way some were talking about our pen and closer situation going into the season, you'd think we'd already have 5 loses like this.

Move on...

I’m starting to feel that way myself.

The really bad news, Tyler, is that you now have to switch to Jean Claude Van Damme movies.

Pen seems fine. As long as they give Hembree and Work clean innings and don't overwork Barnes and Brasier when to cut bait on Thorny and bring up somebody would appear to be the only real issue they have.

The infield is another story. They are an error in waiting.....swiss cheese. Amazing that in contemporary ball where hitters are trying to elevate everything our infield could be this much of a glaring weakness.

Alright, I watched hockey and then went to bed. Who's fault was this?

Station’s fault. He lied to us. NOBODY watches On Deadly Ground on purpose. Nobody...

Don't blame me. I got us a 8-3 record. only a .720 winning percentage. :cool::rolleyes:
