Lots of Porcellos being surrendered by our starting pitching so far this season.

Eovaldi has given up 6 in 15 innings.

6 ER in 15 innings is a respectable 3.60 ERA. But six home runs?

The starting pitching is very concerning right now. I don't understand, these guys are way too talented to be pitching this bad. Is it injuries? Is the pitching coach on the hot seat? This is just absurd.

Devers had no shot on a shallow fly to center. Not sure they should have killed that inning .

With JBJ on deck?

Well, they would have cleared him in the lineup anyway. Now he gets to lead off.

He was watching the 3rd base coach, who might have helped by, say, telling him when to go.

If Jackie opened a bakery after his illustrious baseball career, his specialty would be Roll-overs

Strikes out swinging, with 4 pitches in virtually the same location (low/away). Takes 2, swings at 2---no clue

Did Devers forget how to play baseball....all of it????

On 3rd with the possibility to tag up you have to be looking at the OFer to see when he catches the ball. You leave instantly at the point of the catch and then pick up the 3rd base coach who will tell you either to keep coming or go back. You don't stand on the bag looking at the 3rd base coach. I don't know what has happened to this kid. I have not seen that much of a tag up f*** up even in HS.

So how many outfield assists against the Sox so far this year?
Until the bad play by Devers, the other outs have been the result of tremendous plays.

The question isn't whether he forgot, it's whether he ever knew. Still very short on experience and baseball smarts. Most likely was brought up too soon and a quick bat carried him for awhile but now he isn't flashing that so much.

The first one was a tremendous play. The next two were the result of not learning...

The first one was a tremendous play. The second was a tremendous play set up by lack of hustle out of the box and again rounding second. The third was the result of not learning and a dumb play anyway. Pearce was thrown out lugging a piano. This one was bad baserunning.

Hembree and Brewer remind me so much of Kelly and Kimbrel. They don't know it takes 20-25 pitches to get 3 outs

I can't argue with you there. Devers is never ever in an athletic position to field the baseball. He is never even on the balls of his feet unless X comes over and tells him to stop looking like he is waiting for a bus.
