I wasn't on talkSox at the time, but oh my goodness I thought the Yankees were nuts too at the time. They were clearly expecting every subsequent year to be like his outlier year.

 

I wasn't on talksox then, either, but I said it many times on "that other site."

i think everyone of us thought the yankees were nuts for that contract. i can only think of one ellsbury supporter that thought we should have outbid.

The Sox BP blew a 3-1 lead in the 8th inning today.

 

i dont think it counts when the pitcher has #95 on his back?

The only thing I look at in the spring is the stuff of a pitcher. What is the velocity, how is the breaking ball, etc. I also don't start looking at that until 2 weeks left when they're actually throwing hard. I have seen too many Benny Agbayani's and Enrique Wilson's just dominate the spring and come out and show it was entirely worthless to get caught up in it.

True, but then Chavis, Brentz and Dalbec's HRs don't count.

 

Of course their home runs have no meaning. These guys are representative of one of the worst farm systems in the game today. No chance for them I'm afraid. lol

I’m not so worried about the impact Jhonathan Diaz has on the Sox bullpen this season...

Let's not forget that last year, Joe Kelly blew the game on opening day in similar fashion, yet by year's end was untouchable in the playoffs.

Neither am I, as I believe you have quite a few guys in the pen that are capable of yielding similar results........

True, but I think he was referring more to Andujar's fitness and work ethic. The dude doesn't get any better at third but it's not from a lack of trying!

I know it was only one game, but that one hurt.

The #RedSox canceled the daily media availability 12 minutes before it was supposed to start this morning and haven't said why.

 

There is something going on but it's not clear what. Stay tuned.
