The cool aid acid test for him comes when they start pitching him inside consistently. His lack of courage will alter his swing and mess up his timing and the next thing you know, it is a two month trip to slumpsville!

I have been a fan since the late 1940's and like fans from my era, we learned to have hopes for our team coming out of Spring training. Most of the time they were dashed along the way, but we still had hopes and finally those have been fulfilled multiple times. This year my hopes are that JBJ will have finally learned through better hitting coaching, listening to JDM and reaching a level of maturity that his bat will be consistent during the season and that he will remain healthy.

 

In fact, good heallth in the rest of the Sox outfield will be imperative for us to have a good season, with really only three solid players backed up by JDM for 10% of the games and possibly Holt for another 10%. We may have the best overall outfield in the majors. Great fielding and good hitting. Lot to be hopeful about.

You want JBJ to look like a total dog in the spring. Remember, he’s gonna be white hot for a month or two, okay for a month and abysmal for the rest. Don’t want to burn a hot month when the games don’t count

you would have been better served citing underwater pool light wiring.

its been awhile since a plane hit a building. so thats old news and may not have even occured on this website. my recent one was in the Mo HOF thread.. Mo electrocuting his brother and nephew. that was in poor taste and i was called out for it by Youk (deservedly so)and ceased the back and forth on it.

I think this is the year JBJ puts it all together and stays away from that prolonged mega slump.

 

He had an interesting comment a couple of games ago, when he said that he was more pleased with his single than with his home run, because in the past, he would have rolled over on that single pitch.
