Fire, focus & desire.

Cora is the worst manager I have ever seen in a Sox uniform!

(sarcasm alert)

Is this your approach to deflect any criticism of the way Spring Training was handled?

It is not hard to be a good manager when you have a great team and everything is falling nicely into place. The test comes when you face some adversity. It might be time to ( figuratively) kick a few butts . Personally, I think Cora is up to the task . We will see .

Not sure how a MLB manager kicks butts in this day and age and just 8 games into the season. The horrible outfield gaffe yesterday was just one of those things. Mookie's attempt at 3d was born of trying too hard and not thinking quickly enough because it was an instantaneous decision once the ball dropped in. As it was, it took a perfect play and throw to get him.

How do you kick butts to get better hitting? Anyone? Anyone?

Ditto fixing bad starts by our rotation which everyone thought would be gold.

Max , You , yourself, said the problem was a lack of focus . That is where the butt kicking would be warranted.

I'm never projecting a winning record on a west coast trip again.

After suggesting that the Mariners would be happy with a 1-3 record against the Red Sox.

I suggested that the Mariners would happy with a 3–1 record but in retrospect the 3-1 record was bittersweet because the M’s blew a 6-1 lead in their only loss.

I was happy for you that moonslob had to eat his words.

No.

I think mistakes were made.

If this gives you the jollies, you must be pretty shallow.

How long can we expect the learning curve between our SP'ers and new catchers to last?

I am pretty sure this is not all about, or even mostly about, demoting Leon, but this is getting ridiculous.

If it was about Leon, Dombrowski should be on the hot seat.

But I think this is about Cora’s complete lack of preparation in ST...

In my view , there has been a smug complacency and self satisfaction throughout the entire organization ever since they put the duck boats away . We are seeing the results of it . We are fortunate that the Yankees have not gotten off to a good start .Hopefully, the debacle we are watching tonight is rock bottom and serves as a wake up call . Hopefully, they will get back home and turn things around before it gets any worse . It goes without saying that there is a lot of talent on this club .

The complacency started with Dombrowski, who decided the team would be just as good with Colten Brewer replacing Kimbrel...

Not just that , but the whole off season seemed to be " No problem, we've got it made . " Seemed like that to me , anyway . Spring training was the same thing .

Isn't it GREAT getting 2 hits from our catcher?

It was the only reason we couldn't win 112 games last year!

Are you seriously blaming this mess on the fact that Sandy Leon did not make the cut ?

No. Note even close.

I've already said the sample size is way too small a half dozen times.

I did expect a learning curve, however, but this is way beyond that. We almost certainly wouldn't have one more win had Leon been here instead of Swihart.

...but somewhere in Red Sox Nation someone is happy to see how well Swihart is doing, and saying, "I told you so..."

But I thought you said the catcher wasn't responsible for the sequence of pitches.

You flip flop so much it's hard to keep track.

9 games played

1 quality start by Chris Sale

1 other start with 6 innings pitched by David Price

Tell me again how Kimbrel would have helped in first 9 games?

But the bullpen has been no issue, so I see no reason to attribute any of this to Dombrowski at this point.

Agreed. And as I stated earlier, what regular position player or starting pitcher was anyone looking to get rid of this offseason and for whom??

We were not getting realmutto.
