This f***ing bullpen is a mess. They need to start pitching better geez. Happy with the w but concern with that pen.

Most team's BP's cannot be trusted. Unfortunately, that probably no longer holds true for the Yankems.

Agreed with this however we have been inconsistent offensively ever since the break. Once the offense starts rolling again we will be fine. But yes it’s always a concern when your ace puts up 6 scoreless innings and we still almost blow it.

This is all on Cora. No reason to bring Kimbrel in the 8th with no one on base and a s*** hitter at the plate. Kimbrel is a one inning pitcher. He's too wild to pitch more than an inning

Holy s***! A redsoxrules sighting!

Welcome back. Stick around.

Last 39 innings, Sale allowed 1 run.

If he doesn’t win the CY this year I don’t know when.

A lot can happen in the last 2 months. He was in the driver seat last year too but had some bad starts down the stretch. Cora has kept his workload low this year so maybe he'll finish strong down the stretch

Hardest hit ball was the DP. Good thing Bogie and Pearce combined to save the run that would have scored.

What an amazing DP, on both parts.

I am glad that Pearce didn't get stepped on during that play.

Interesting move by Cora. Not sure I agree, but WTF do I know?

A little surprised at the early entry of Kimbrel

I thought the exact same thing as I was watching the game.

The opposing batter has terrible numbers against Kimbrel, but nonetheless, Barnes was dealing and there were no runners on base, much less in scoring position. I would have left Barnes in.

I'm not saying that that's the reason that Kimbrel blew the save, but I would have saved Kimbrel the pitches and the 1/3 of an inning.

Interesting decision.

Remember the days of KOJI? The people in the ballpark would be home already.

I absolutely love Koji. No drama. 1-2-3 and go home.

Games like this make me sick to my stomach.

Me too. What a roller coaster of emotions.

Thank goodness for the comeback!

How many times has Kimbrel blown a Sale game now? Damn little kleeber elf.

He’s only had 3 blown saves all year; that was the 2nd with Sale as the starter (the other was against the Royals in April).

The previous one was against the Yankees in May (Porcello was the starter) and that was also a 4 out attempt.

Mookie Betts gets the plaudits for the game winner , but then he is a high BA and power hitter. Not saying it should have been expected but,

The reason Mookie got to hit is because the erratic kid, Rafael Devers took F.Rodney deep in the 9th. That was not something to expect Devers had the hit of the night when it really counted. It would have been a depressing loss to waste Sale's pitching and expose Kimbrel for the 4 out blown save. Rafael cured all that misery, but

None of it would have mattered if not for JBJr's 2 run homer earlier when no one in the top 5 of the lineup could solve Lance Lynn with any authority. After the 9th inning K last night , Jackie needed to get it going and he did. Oh why was it a 2 run homer ----because the much maligned Eduardo Nunez managed to get a hit.

Betts may have had the last hit, and got the Gatorade treatment, but the key hits were Nunez, Bradley and Devers. Good for them and the team

Yeah, goddamn the little leprechaun and his 32 saves out of 35 chances.

Can't wait till next year when he's gone and we have a new closer to crap on every time they fail!

Plus Koji was so fun to watch. He had that intense look. Or maybe a blank stare. And then he made batters look pretty foolish with pitches that never seemed to eclipse 88 mph.

Then when the game ended we all got to see that huge smile of his and the joy that he felt.

He was just fun.

Absolutely. I remember his interview after winning the ALCS in 2013 about the pressure he felt. - "I thought I was going to throw up."

Maybe that was Cora sending a signal to DD that he needs a LH reliever.
It was pretty telling that in the 7th inning that Cora went to a righty when the Twins had 4 left handed hitters due up in the 7th.

That play by Brasier at first was a crazy play to end the inning. It looked like a disaster was about to happen as he went stumbling towards first base. I don't think that I have seen a pitcher take a throw at 1B while falling on top of it.

Edit: I was so shocked to see the falling play that I just assumed that it was a clumsy pitcher. it was in fact Pearce.

Any doubt we need a full time second baseman?
Nunez's knee is still bothering him. After his double and tag up to go to third, he was hurting bad. he was repeatedly flexing his knee and squatting trying to keep it loose. I don't know if the cameras picked that up or if the announcers mentioned it.
