Part of the fun is you trolling and getting called on it. I am constantly surprised at Red Sox fans being surprised that a Yankee fan becomes obnoxious when the Yankees are really good. I attribute that to the fact that they live in cocoons and have no day to day contact with Yankee fans. Wait until we are over the cliff, they Yankee fans will be brutal. Toughen up Red Sox fans.

I've never been on a Red Sox forum that didn't have a few Yankee fans. Would a Sox forum even be complete without one?

They all will post negative Sox/positive Yankee commentary, and Sox fans do the opposite. And the truth is usually somewhere in the middle...

You were on the old BDC forum so you must remember Jete02. Obviously a Yankees fan, but he knew how to make his points without running the Sox into the ground while doing it. Jete is still the Gold Standard for Yankees fans in a Sox forum.

Jete02 is a good example of the Token Yankee Poster on a Red Sox forum.

I've rarely posted on a Yankee forum, but I did try it on ESPN.com way back when I was just starting, and that forum was A LOT less open-minded about fans from other teams. Their mods would ban anyone who didn't sing the praises of all things pinstriped...

You probably have not heard of Y228. He was an excellent member here on Talksox for several years. Everyone respected him.

I have no idea why he stopped posting here. I guess life just happened to him.

True, but they are allowed here. It isn’t a safe space from Yankee fans.

I'm so glad we all moved on and went back to discussing the thread topic. So let me ask: Who thinks Pomeranz actually pitches another game in a Red Sox uniform?

I do.

We're not going to go the rest of the season with Wright and Beeks taking his starts. He's an important member of the rotation who is off his game right now...

If the Sox can pick up even a serviceable 4 or 5 guy before Pomeranz gets off of the phantom DL list, I can see them flipping him to someone more willing to take a chance. Someone without a serious postseason contention chance to defend.

Dear BDC Interlopers,

TS is our turf. Conform and stop talking about BDC or GTFO.

Man, are you so paranoid that you can't stand the letters BDC? You need help!

If he does not have a major injury he will be back.

He’s going to have to show something in order to flip him. I’m also not convinced it’s totally a phantom DL stint. There obviously is SOMETHING wrong. We saw what he can do both with San Diego and again last season. Healthy, he’s not an ace but he’s also not as bad as he’s been this year.

But he's a free agent at the end of the year, so a team trading for him is only going to have his services for a little over half a season.

I think Pomeranz will end up in the bullpen. I would probably give him one, maybe two, more starts before demoting him, just to be sure. He isn't doing himself any favors in terms of his free agency with his performance this year.
