If you can get a logo together, we can print and sell T-shirts...

Clearly some aren't going to buy into knotheads. You might have to send out a memo. It is a term of endearment. Sure as hell beats notinothings!

A positive update on Rodriquez. I'm not sure if he makes it back to the majors in August, but it would be a surprise, I would think, if he doesn't return in September:

https://nesn.com/2018/07/eduardo-rodriguez-injury-alex-cora-gives-positive-update-on-pitchers-ankle/

That's more or less what I expected with a serious ankle sprain; a 6 week vacation. He won't win 20 games like I'd been hoping, but he should be fully healed by the playoffs.

Now our rotation is:

Johnson

Porcello

Eovaldi

Price

Pomeranz

Weird year. Well, we can put the "Johnson should be starting not Pomeranz" argument to rest; they're both in there. But I can switch to "Velazquez over Pomeranz" :)

4 no-hit innings for #Rays Beeks after 2 1-hit innings by Wood. #Rays lead #Angels 4-0

Why can't we ever develop kids like this one?

The Rays could have an interesting young rotation next year with Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow, Jose DeLeon, Brent Honeywell and perhaps Jalen Beeks. DeLeon, who turns 26 years old next week, is the oldest.

On Baseball America preseason Top 100 prospect lists, Snell topped out at No. 12, Glasnow at No. 14, Honeywell at No. 14 and DeLeon at No. 23. Honeywell and DeLeon will be coming back from Tommy John surgery.

Just 3 weeks of development from an another organization is enough to undo all the bad our prospect developers did.

Good news: Rodriguez threw a bullpen session and looked and felt great.

Also, Sale will not pitch against Toronto; instead, he will pitch against Baltimore, so they are pushing him back a few extra days it would seem (smart). Brian Johnson will stay in the rotation and will get another start against Toronto. Cora also said he doesn't want Sale to pitch against the Phillies -- he doesn't want Sale to hit.

I like Johnson. I wouldn’t mind if they go to a 6 man rotation with him.

These pitchers can’t come back quickly enough for me. I don’t wanna see drew pomeranz pitch!!

We can afford to give him a longer look than we might want. It helps rest other starters, and if he can get to first half 2016 or all of 2017 form, he can be better than Johnson, Eovaldi and even ERod.

I'd like to see him get 2-3 more starts at least. He could end up being a key pen arm by the end of the season.

I know it's only 2 starts, but I'm really impressed with Eovaldi, so don't be too quick on that judgment.

Personally I don't believe in true 6 man rotations, but I like the concept that there is a "swing man" who pitches in the rotation only when there isn't an off-day, so that the main 5 starters always have 5 days of rest between starts.

I'm not being quick.

I said Pom "can" be better and suggested at least 2-3 starts to see if Pom is improving.

Of course, as they look right now, Pom is behind Eovaldi & Johnson and would be behind a healthy ERod, too.

My point was that Pom, at his best (like 2016 early and 2017), was good enough to be a strong #2 or great #3 or 4. I'm not giving up on Pom or trying to dwonplay how well Eovaldi, Johnson or ERod can be (and have been this year).

You mean 4 days off, right?

Your analogy is f***ing stupid. Are you trying to say eovaldi will only be good in 8% of his starts?

You’re a f***ing imbecile

I guess this clock struck 12 two times in a row.
