Bowling > Golf

Well as far as learning some serious math skills by learning how to score, I'm all over that one. Golf not so much - 1,2,3,4,5,and an occasional 6 - easy factorin'

If that were true there'd be a Bowling Channel.

Is the Bowling Masters being played this weekend? Do you have to still set your own pins? lol

I'm not a golf guy but there are times when golf can be pretty exciting.

In the past two days I've watched Jack Nicklaus's 15 year old nephew ( his caddy ) hit a hole in one. That was cool.

I also saw Lynn Swan giving instructions to Nicklaus and Gary Player.

Nicklaus put the ball about one foot from the cup with his tee shot on a par 3.

I found that pretty f***ing cool.

I mean the guy is 80 or something.

I attended one PGA tourney in my life. Pleasant Valley in 1974. I had no idea what was going on but it was kind of awesome to see Nicklaus, Elder, and Rodriquez swat that pill hundreds of feet.

Treveino walked by me with his bandaid. He was joking around.

In all it was some fun s*** to witness.

Pretty cool that you saw The Golden Bear. I went to Seniors tournament one time and saw a lot of legends, but didn't see Palmer who was dealing with cancer at the time.

I've loved the game since my Grandfather introduced me to it back in the very early sixties - But hey I love the incredible challenge it presents everyday(don't believe - try it)- I like practicing - I like being alone- I love match play - tournament play in general- I've met some of the nicest people I could know on the course- I love to walk (roughly between 5 and 7 miles per round - it works for me but what the hell I ran marathons too. Kind of a similar experience in many ways.

Yeah, many people say baseball is boring too.

I like to joke you about golf, but I am sure that for golf fans, it is very exciting. I am also sure that if I took the time to get into it, I'd find it very exciting. I have actually watched the last rounds of golf events in the past and have found them entertaining.

I think I mentioned that I recently found a whole new enjoyment in cross country skiing events. What I once considered to be an extremely boring sport, I now find can be quite exciting. Curling too.

I'm with you on most of this (except the 'nicest people' part--I don't find golfers alas any different from the general population). Also, although my marathon days are well past, I recall that frustrating though it may be, I never felt like ripping my equipment off and hurling it into a tree.

lol - but I have to say I would have to be the last person to judge anyone based on whether they threw a club or not.
