That isn't what I said and it makes no sense at all. You probably didn't do too well fitting the different shaped blocks into holes.

*yawn*

a700 trying to weasel out of something rather than walk back on a point. Who would have thought it.

I guess you never lose the sliminess and duplicitous nature of being a lawyer.

I like Cora. Minimal amount of head-scratchers.

Me too. I think he's showing himself to be a very good leader? So far.

I liked that he left in Sale to get the last out of the 6th tonight.

I liked what he did there as well but can you imagine the reaction it would have caused if it hadn't worked out. It was the right move whether it worked or not.

Cora actually said Sale made the decision for him. He was inbetween but Sale said he had him.

I love it when Sale gets dominant like that.

I totally agree, but had it not worked out, Cora would still keep getting bashed and bashed.

I, for one, am thrilled we have Cora as our new manager.

Cora strikes me as someone who really wants to know and understand where his players are coming from. In these cases, some players get treated differently. If you look at Chris Sale and he tells you that he can do what he knows he can do, just as Cora did, you just turn around and go back to the dugout. Cora knows the game well enough to understand that others in the rotation might not get the same treatment regardless of how they think they are feeling. I like that.

What? He was only going to leave him in for one batter and they had a two run lead. No matter what Sale did there, it wouldn't have lost the lead at that point. Why would anyone bash Cora for the ace pitcher wanting to throw to one more batter with the bases empty, two outs and a two run lead?

There is nothing to walk back. You are a dolt that cant recognize obvious sarcasm and then you compounded your mistake with a misrepresentation of my statements and a faulty logical inference. You are out of your league.

You're slimy and dishonest. But then, you were a lawyer. Can't blame an anteater for liking ants.

I'm done with this conversation. There's only so much a man can take of another lying through his teeth and deflecting with all his might, Donald.

I am a lawyer. Present tense. Again, your facts are incorrect, Jackass.

I think you said over and over again that managers are meaningless? is that not correct?

Only sarcastically. I believe that managerial in game moves are important. Others here think that in game managerial moves are insignificant, lineups are insignificant, that you don't teach fundamentals at the MLB level etc., and that only the manager's off-field function including handling the press is significant. I don't agree with that opinion, but have mentioned that if it is true, that teams shouldn't waste millions paying for a manager when they already have a press secretary to handle the press. I hope that clears it up.

I take offense to that. Not because of the slimy and dishonest part, but because I hate ants. They're icky.

Well, that really does explain the constant need for dishonesty.

Hard to leave work at the office.

They'll rule as all one day!!!

Are you honestly saying nobody would have criticized Core if we lost the lead with an HR?

There probably would have been a knee jerk reaction in the game thread. MVP's question wasn't about whether anyone would complain, but rather why would they complain. At least that is how I read it.

True. I think I read more into his post than what was intended.

You can't lose the lead when you are up by 2 runs and no runners are onboard. Cora and Sale both said he was only in for one more batter.

Sorry, I remembered one guy was on. My bad.

54 pages and going strong--this thread definitely has legs, and it was begun largely to show up FNG Cora, the rookie manager who makes rookie mistakes and isn't nearly as smart or as knowledgeable as we fans are.

You would think things would slow down with the 9 game winning streak followed quickly by the 8 game winning streak, but no sireee. This is beantown, and we don't cut any slack for managers who lose games, which Cora has already done 5 times.

He has a lot to answer for: Kelly/Smith in game 1, entirely Cora's fault; ditto Nunez trying to score from 2b on that single in Toronto; ditto Beni any time he is on the basepaths; ditto Vazquez/Leon who ain't hitting; ditto any starter who stays in too long or is pulled when he is going well; ditto any time JD plays the outfield; ditto bad lineups which happen about half the time judging by the game threads.

Yes, there are some who like that 19-5 record and think Cora is actually a plus. I'm one of them. But 54 pages say the won-lost record will only get you so far around here. When the Sox lose one, someone has to be answerable.

Max - Any chance you think that some here just want something to do so they post? It is a hobby for me. Gets a little trashy from time to time but really it is something to do that provides some sort of entertainment.
