I was up at a wedding last night. The Sox have just been better. Our offense has caved. Our team is showing it’s youth.

A team with all veteran pitchers, and lineup with Stanton, Hicks, Gardner, Romine, Bird, Gregorious etc is showing its lack of experience? I'm calling ******** on this.

OPS by age groups

.762 25 or under (1411 PAs)

.838 26-30 (2116 PAs)

.681 31-35 (694 PAs)

Looks like the youth has outhit the "experience".

Yankee fans all over Boone about his passiveness, as displayed in the 9th yesterday when Walker got rung up on a questionable call and got into it with the ump. Boone was just chewing his gum the whole time, as one poster put it.

What a horrid series book-ended by a pretty fitting finish. However I'm going down on record as saying this will be the absolute low point of the season. Yanks will still advance further in the postseason than Boston, you can put a bookmark next to this one for October. And for those saying the Yankees will be golfing in October, keep dreaming.

Booney was angry after the game. He refused to buy the boys ice cream on the flight to Chicago.

thats ok. A-rod still gave them all BJ's....

[h=2]Jacoby Ellsbury Undergoes Hip Surgery[/h]By Jeff Todd | August 7, 2018 at 12:58pm CDT

The Yankees announced today that outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury has undergone surgery to repair the labrum of his left hip. He’s expected to require six months of recover time.

Ellsbury’s season is now over before it ever began. The 34-year-old has been on the disabled list all year with a dizzying array of injuries. He did not appear in game action at any level.

Lol.

This is easily my favorite Yankee FA signing.

The gift that keeps on breaking.

Because he will miss the entire season, his contract will be fully reimbursed as the Yanks insure all their contracts. Ellsbury just gave the Yanks $22 mil back in their pockets

A few points on this:

a) They only insurance a small number of contracts.

B) The actual recovery on Ellsbury is about $16 million, per Forbes.

c) How much are the insurance premiums? That's a rhetorical question, I'm sure the info isn't available, but they're probably pretty hefty.

At the time of the signing, I said paying half would have been an overpay.

Surely point A cannot be correct. Jacksonianmarch says that the Yankees insure ALL of their contracts. He’s a “doctor” so certainly he is correct....

They insure all their long term contracts. Is that better? I figured I didn’t need to specify that Ronny Torreyes’ contract wasn’t insured but maybe in dealing with you, I should?

Your savior is the White Sox, not Sonny Gray or Mother Theresa.

The yanks could pad their record by playing Scranton. They always were good with playing with themselves.

This is the weak part of the schedule. We need to make our hay. With the Sox winning every game, we need to play what’s ahead of us and if the Sox fall then we’ll be there to push them. If the Sox continue their ridiculous pace then we clinch the top WC early and set our team up for the play in game

yoy, relax there yankee friend. These are good posters on a sox site. They got the upper hand last tilt. It wasn't the playoffs. We are righting the ship and should have our guys ready come playoffs. If we see them in the ALDS, I think we will see a 2001 repeat. Team that sets record or nearly sets record for wins in a season goes out when they face us
