Yes, but his swing is still not classic betts. He seems to be jumping at pitches lately.

I have yet to see him try to hit a ball to the right side of the field. I don't know if pulling the ball is something he's trying to do more of because he's become "pull happy" or because it's Spring Training and he's tinkering with his swing but IMO it's significant.

I'm not big on attaching any significance to ST'ing numbers, but these are somewhat eye-opening:

 

OPS (18+ PAs)

 

1.383 Bogey (Looks like the wrist is healed.)

1.328 Beni (Big bump from Beni would be huge.)

1.197 Swihart (Keep it up Swi!)

1.130 Devers (Does this guy ever not hit well?)

Funny, we say we don't attach any significance to ST numbers, but we can't seem to help doing it...I'm the same.

The only things that are significant about ST are injuries and the fight for the last few spots on a roster.

With Dave, I don't really see much at this time that shows that any of his deals were terrible. He did give a lot of players to acquire real talent. On our team, most of those guys were destined to be role players for us or they were blocked for sure. I understand totally that some here did not necessarily like these deals because it goes against a very solid philosophy that they believe in. As for me, I have enjoyed watching the stars he has acquired compete.

Obviously with both our Avi we are pretty high on Devers ...This kid can hit in a phone booth but I'm not sold on the Hot corner for him ...Is First inevitable ? DH is locked down next couple ...Id really like to see Him succeed at the Hot corner give me some hope that I'm not seeing a clunky fielding player .
