First of all, can you not see how your distaste for INTERNATIONAL signings - particularly those from a specific race - could be viewed as racial?

 

And second, you might be better off not using actual racial slurs to make your point.

 

While I know what the expression means and even know the innocent origins, I also know why it is rarely used any more and find your choice to use it here as, well, ironic, to say the least. I don't think you meant the slur, but it was an odd choice in context...

What happened here? This place is not what I remembered. I remember thinking that the last time I started posting after a hiatus, which is why I left again.

 

This place was great once, a lot of A-type people with strong opinions and a great back and forth dialogue among members. Members who could take a beating, then give a beating when merited.

 

Not only is this place dead in comparison, but the current members are weak...and they are soft. No wonder why this place is dead, nobody can have a solid take without being called a racist. If we're just looking at cities, what is the selling point of Seattle (where his power also won't play well) over San Diego?

 

I do understand that San Diego is very nice. Seattle has a huge Japanese and Asian population and culture. SF has a good sized one too. And LA is LA. I hate the f***ing place but everyone else seems to like it.

Awful to hear about Michael and how he died in an automobile accident down in Florida. He was a great kid, and always messaging me about his ambition to work in law enforcement. Such an awful story.

Yup, weve been at blows.....as far as typing on a keyboard goes.

 

That was always the thing about this place. The people here were your "internet" friends. It was a really tight knit group. We had our differences, but we always respected each other. We always knew we could ask each other for help. In a lot of cases, we actually did help each other out outside of the forum in our REAL lives. We knew each other on the outside. We used to have meet and greets. We (forum members) would meet up and go to Sox games together.

You're absolutely correct that if Ohtani wants to play in a city where he won't experience complete culture shock, he would certainly have Seattle tops on his list with Frisco right behind. LA is far less Japanese than those two, so probably less likely if that's what he wants.

 

The problem is, no one knows what he wants.

 

But if I was going to bet on anywhere, I'd pick Seattle. But I'd prefer he went to San Diego. And part of me thinks that city has a good chance because he kept them on his list for some reason...
