Cleveland got Fisted by Doug Fister. Than got Fisted by Celtics as they traded mighty Midget for Kyrie Irving.

Big Dick Pom Pom vs Corey Kluber.

Leveon Bell is reporting to Steelers September 1st

Jon Jones suspended for Steroids.

Another tough pitching match up.

No JBJ in the line up, as he is back in Boston getting an MRI. That leaves us with a really short bench, unless roster moves are made.

Pom Pom and the Red Sox for the WIN!!!

Crap.

Losing the best CF in the game now would hurt.

Last night, they expected that he would not be in the lineup tonight, because he would not get back from the MRI in Boston in time for the game.

He's a big loss, but the best CF in the game? Do you mean defensively?

Hopefully, he gets a clean MRI and he'll be back by Thursday. He doesn't think it's anything serious. We can ill afford to lose him for a long time.

Good to know he doesn't feel that it's serious.

Funny how the Kyrie-IT trade goes down the same night Boston and Cleveland are playing each other in baseball. Win. Dance. Repeat. x2

Doesn't even have to be serious to affect him offensively. I just hope they keep him out until it's as healed.

very good and very important point IL. even a "minor" thumb injury is a big problem for a hitter.

And no question that MRI has to be done in Boston not Cleveland.

The defense just took a tremendous hit. I thought that this no Collusion rule was supposed to reduce injuries. Such BS. Bradley could have steamrolled that catcher and everyone would be okay.

f***ing buttermaker. that is entirely his fault. waving him in with only 1 out. just killed his career.

Saying it may have killed his career is probably (i hope!) a bit of an overstatement, but as he was streaking for home I was asking "WHY?" We had tied the game, he would have been on 3B with one out anyway, and obviously it was going to be a close play at the plate.

And my "Why" came while the ball was in the air. The gamble just didn't seem worth the reward for me, and that was before the thumb injury - which was totally unforeseeable.

It was a close play. Sending him there took a perfect relay. Lindor through a strike from 150 ft.

I just had a flashback to my playing days. We had a player - a CF'er no less! - who tried to score head first on a play like that, caught his thumb on the edge of the plate, and rolled it straight back, completely dislocating it. We lost him for the rest of the season.

I know the situations are different in that whatever JBJ did to his thumb was apparently brought on by his striking down on the plate whereas "my guy" had his forced backward and out of joint...but the circumstances around it brought back the memory.

Now I REALLY want to know what Brentz's dance move is

So if we really want to prove we're a WS contender, we need to be like the Dodgers and not skip a beat when people star getting hurt.

The Dodgers are having a magical regular season, one of the best in history.

Even last year they had injuries, and they didn't let it stop them
