Since Bogey only has 2 more years left and probably with decent arb contracts, I'm not sure he'd be what Miami would be looking for, unless they would flip him afterwards.

I do agree. Stanton is the "Chris Sale" of hitters. You just don't get chances to acquire guys like him very often. I, too, would avoid giving up Devers, but he might be the one guy Miami demands.

Throwing in Castillo might help defray the massive cost, but Stanton is not overpaid. They don't have to take back salary to trade him for top young talent.

Any deal not including Devers or Beni, or players with 2-3 years of control or less would, in reality, probably have to start with this:

ERod (4 arb years)

Groome

Chavis

Mata

Flores

I'd do that in a heart beat if Stanton can play 1B.

You'd have to fellate the owner... who will be Jeter.

He'd get a good going away prize the morning after though.

This again ^ Its the kids and Trades that's made a difference to help this team not the FA's. Hanley and Price? 50+ million sunk in 2 guys, you think they are worth it?

No I do not! And that is precisely why I would be inclined to swap them along with Castillo for Stanton and his multi-M contract. Check out the $$$ contract comparisons in my earlier post and tell me who you would be more willing to pay, Price, Hanley, and Castillo or Stanton.

First, the Yanks and Dodgers are probably in the driver's seat, but what I would offer is Beni (Stanton takes over left field for the next 9 years in the tradition of slugging Red Sox left fielders), and either two top prospects or Bogaerts. If that's not enough, we move on on.

Do you understand that the Marlins would agree with your assessment, which is why they wouldn't make trade? This isn't MLB2K17.

Beni + Bogaerts + 2 prospects

That's a very good haul for the marlins, I doubt the RS offered would be close to that, but if they do it the Marlins should be interested

Re-read. I said Beni + 2 prospects or Beni + Bogaerts.

Next up on You Be The GM: Do you think Houston would do a Castillo/Porcello for Altuve trade? GET IT DONE,DD!

LOL!

Maybe we can make him into a pitcher.

Given that we'd be taking on nearly $300 million in salary in any Stanton trade, I think some people are really overestimating the price we'd have to pay in talent. I'd love to have him too, but some of these proposals are bonkers.

I would do this if they threw in Springer.

Trade for the biggest contract in MLB history and switch him to a position he's never played before. Good God, man.

What's with all the Sarcasm. Are you all trying to tell me that a right fielder cannot play left field?? That is weird. Maybe if you mean he's too big a star to change positions, then why is everyone here willing to put him at first. (besides do you think we can save our whole outfield in a trade for Stanton?) Also, outfielders as they age, often switch to left field, so why not put him there first, or maybe we can trade Mookie for Stanton if you don't think he'd play any other pos.

I'm not for a trade but I think if there is one, these are the minimal costs we will entail.

OP mentioned moving him to 1B. Some people think it's an easy position to play, but not every player can do it, and in my opinion we should learn from the Hanley debacle and not make these kinds of moves.

The other thing I find objectionable in these kinds of threads is the idea of giving up 3 really good players to land a superstar - presumably ripping open holes elsewhere in the lineup in the process. Makes absolutely no sense. If you want to get a talent like Stanton, draft him. Or sign him as a FA.

Also, does OP realize Stanton has a opt out clause. So let's say we trade something of value for him....and then he walks?

We really, really need a "like" posts function on this forum.

also - at the people saying id have to suck off jeter and not the GM. I would do it for Giancarlo if all we had to give up was prospects and E-rod. I would handle Jeters dick and balls so well he would forget who Minka Kelly and Jessica Biel are. I would be the best hookup he ever had. I REALLY want Giancarlo that bad.

I'd rather have a "What the f*** is This?!?" button

You're a f***ing retard if you think trading Mookie for Giancarlo is a smart move

First, I never said that it was a smart move... in fact I said I was opposed to a trade.

Second, you are nothing like Stephen Curry.

Nope, he's 30 little Stephen Curry's stacked on top of each other Voltron style.

Have you factored in the $$$ of my original proposal which entailed acquiring a $295M contract (Stanton) while dumping $240M in contracts (Price, Ramirez, Castillo).
