Maybe he ran through the stop sign. I didn't notice that. But you have to be yelling at your guys. "Back back back!" should have been getting screamed by Butterworth. What does he think his role is out there -- to relay all the signs for the plays that we never put on?

I normally and all for blaming Butterworth, but I think that Moreland is just an idiot on the bases from what I've seen. Moreland is same guy who got doubled off 1st in Oakland on a gapper where Rajai Davis caught the ball, hit the wall, laid on the ground, got up and still threw ball back in to double off Moreland who for some reason circled bases.

Wow...... you played baseball........ I played third for about a decade.... at third you have a great view to see if you can get the guy at second. It might not be the preffered play, but it should be routine. Flip to second....... and out...

HE HAD HIM DEAD. Someone should have been there no matter what.

It isn't a routine flip to 2nd when runner on 1st is getting a huge lead, not being held on and is running on pitch with two outs. it shouldn't even be in fat f***s mind to look at 2B there. mancini was out by a mile if he just goes to 1st.

Who the f*** cares. He put the ball at second base to beat the runner. No one was there.... someone should have been there as is what should happen.

He was also the dope who got tagged out on the triple play. The umps screwed up the call, but either way he did the wrong thing. If he thought it was an infield fly, he ass should have been planted on 2B. If he thought there was no infield fly call, he should have been headed to 3B. He was 2 steps off of 2B when the throw came in and he was going back to the base. What he did was inexplicable under any circumstances. I think you are right -- Moreland is building a thick record of stupidity on the bases.

No, because on that play you DON'T LOOK FOR 2B. HE MIGHT NOT EVEN OF GOT HIM EVEN IF MARRERO WAS THERE, DAVIS WAS RIGHT ON BAG. it was a dumb ass throw, there is a huge he could've thrown out by a mile so WHY go for tougher play? NO REASON.

Yep, its pretty sad for a single player off the top of our heads we can think of him doing three idiotic things on the base paths to give away an out and its only June. Some guys are just idiots on the bases, we can have all the coaching in the world, but it cant make Moreland and Hanley good base runners.

Yes, the mistakes are bad, but the biggest problem is that Sale is now very, very hittable, I think because the only pitch he throws for strikes is the fast ball, so they can sit on it and not worry about a slider, curve, changeup, you name it.

Looks like I was dead right with this one. Sale improved drastically as soon as he started throwing breaking balls and keeping it low.

The question has to be, if a dummy--I'm not dumb, but I am a total amateur about about MLB--like me can see the problem, why the hell couldn't the pitching coach or for that matter Farrell? Forget today's game. Sale struggled for all of May too--struggling being a relative term for Sale. And all along I thought he was throwing too many fastballs.

Maybe the coaching staff is too immersed in looking at stats instead of watching the game.:P

Marrero has 3 home runs this season and he is so utterly forgettable that I can't remember a single one of them.

2 of them came in the space of half an hour or so - off Quintana a few games ago.

How did we get a lead? Had to change a diaper.

The catcher made a crappy throw to third trying to pick off Moreland and two runners scored.

Do you have more than one baby that need changing? I smell another diaper change.

Bases were loaded, there was a ball in the dirt, Moreland was too far down 3B line and should've been picked off 3rd, but Orioles catcher threw ball down LF line allowing two runs to score.
