Farrell is going on 'EEI in 5 minutes. We'll see how much Price/Eck talk there is.
He will talk all around it and say how we handle those matters in house. After the usual BS PC answer, they need to press him about whether Price has apologized to Eck, and if not, why not.

This reminds me of a business client whose matters were always marked "Expedite". I had to explain that the marking had lost all meaning since every matter carried the same marking and they would just be treated as ordinary priority. The same goes for leadership. If a team has 25 leaders, that just means that everyone is going his own way and there is no leadership. He is such a dumbass.

"Meanwhile, the Red Sox have a new boarding policy for their broadcast media. In an effort to minimize potential conflict, folks from WEEI and NESN board first and go to the rear of the aircraft before the players board".

This isn't going to accomplish anything other than to prolong the hard feelings. Everyone involved needs to talk it out even if it means they agree to disagree.

And to think, I was concerned that Sale was going to be the clubhouse problem. :-(

This must be like 2015 when we had 5 aces in the rotation.

Is this real life?

Why? Didn't sitting a certain class of people in the rear of the bus work really well the last time it was tried?

It's actually quite an extraordinary admission. You don't have anyone in that organization with the stones to say: "Do not abuse reporters. PERIOD." No one who can explain to these children that the millions of dollars they make are largely due to the free publicity they get from sports-writers? No one in the League who is disturbed by this?

It's too late to fire a manager, but unless the sox make a deep run in the playoffs, I can't see Farrell surviving to 2018. You have the best team in the ALE on paper. You have a rotation that on paper is second to none. Your pen has overachieved and you have the best closer in the league. You're offense is led by the MVP runner up from a year ago. And you're sliding at the wrong time. Farrell wasn't hand picked by DD. This sox team is one of the more undisciplined teams I've ever seen. Manny being Manny was more disciplined than this.

After the EEI interview with Farrell, there is only 1 conclusion....

I saw that and read Bradford's article this morning. We live in a different time. Everybody knows or wants to know everything about everybody. Personally, I do not care what happens on the Red Sox plane. It isn't something I need to know. Is it a story that even needed to be reported? It was I guess so that's it. Price comes off looking like a boob and he won't be able to recover from this one. It might not even make a difference whether he pitches well or not. He has clearly angered the Media.

I have a bad tendency to fixate on certain things, but I'm still bothered by Farrell starting Fister in the last game on the home stand as if it was a game we could easily afford to lose. Now the team looks like s*** on this road trip.

If Price was 12-2 with a 2.50 ERA, I think most sox fans could give two shits. Since he sucked in the playoffs last year, joked about it on social media, misses time due to injury, pitches ok but not ace like on return and then acts like an ass, he's going to have some trouble winning fans over for sure. And it's different when you're reaming out Drellich, but when you go after a HOFer in Eck in the way he did, it doesn't sit well

Yup. He's got a lot going against him. I don't think it would make any difference at all whether he was playing well or not. There would still be a loud vocal outcry (maybe justified) against him.

Pretty desperate when we went to Fister late. We need to get back or trade for another BP arm before the deadline. Neshek would be good but might cost too much.

I think that when the 'story' involves a group of players essentially 'lying in wait' in the plane so that can publicly abuse a reporter, while other players (one of their 25 'leaders') and staff sit around and say nothing, then absolutely, it needs to be reported. There have been many dysfunctional RS teams over the past 6 decades or so, but this is the first one I'll be rooting against the rest of the season.

And it's not just "some reporter".

Price skwered Evan Drellich a few weeks ago and no one batted an eye.

Eckersley is a color guy who's justtrying to do his job.

He's also very popular with the fan base. That makes it a story.

Price is obviously no brain surgeon, but that was a dumb move.

Nothing fixes a bad situation like winning.

If they don't start doing that soon, this could get really ugly for the entire team.

I would never go as far as rooting against my team, especially not for something like this. This story reflects badly but I think it's getting blown up a bit too.

If they lose tonight and struggle this weekend, Disarcina will be the manager for the Guardians series. It's not like they are missing an in house replacement.
