I am so sick of these guys lately. They've become almost as unbearable as the Yankees in my eyes, and that is incredible. The only things I generally hate as much as the Yankees are cancer and restaurants who put pickle spears next to your french fries without listing it on the menu. Seriously, at least mention that you do that so I know to ask you not to ruin a third of my fries with pickle brine, you *******s. Also, f*** the Orioles.

Pomeranz makes his first start of the season for the Sox, opposite Dylan Bundy, a name that everyone would come up with if asked to create a character who lives in a poorly-maintained trailer and abuses his wife.

Just win.

Also, f*** the Orioles. Did I say that already? Oh well. f***. The. Orioles.

We lived in N. Virginia when my son came of age and there was no MLB team in Washington because two versions of the Senators had departed for greener pastures, the first to Minnesota and the second to Texas, so my son remains to this day an Orioles fan and I find it hard to hate them with quite the same vehemence as our illustrious moderator.

Nevertheless, I do see them as an irritant, but would remind everyone that last year Baltimore lost 11 games to the Sox including all 4 of the final 4 game series, Sep 19-22, in Baltimore.

This time just two quick ones at Fenway, and the first--tonight--is their Dylan Bundy vs. our Pomeranz, with a huge edge to Bundy who went 7 with 8 K's while giving up just 1 run to the Blue Jays. Bundy reportedly has great stuff and just one downside--how long will his arm last this year.

The Sox, meanwhile, struggle at the plate, yesterday being only the most recent example of a team that has scored 22 runs in 6 games. The worst scoring team, Atlanta, in MLB has scored just 4 fewer--18 runs.

Right now--granted, just 6 games into the season--our third highest OPS belongs to Pedroia at .613. Then Benintendi at .601, Young at .554, Sandoval .504. Bradley's at .782, but he's on the DL. Bogaerts and HanRam could both start tonight, but their hitting--very small sample--is also off.

I bet that ******* Robert Andino throws out the first pitch today. At least that horsef***er Kevin Gregg isn't playing for them anymore.

Now that is more like it. Even without Leon.

I just wonder how X and Hanley will be in the box. How is their timing, etc.

It's 80 over here. They should get loose fast. They need these games. They are the old two game swing games. It has been a long layoff for Pomeranz as well. He's the one I am concerned about. I don't know if he is pitching with an injury or not. We will find out soon.

How much longer will Benintendi's BABIP stay at .150?

Not for long. He will be fine. Would like it if Betts got going as well. This flu shat is over.

Betts is struggling (for now) w/o having Ortiz behind him. His BB% is 23.1%. He's getting nothing to hit.

Loose is one thing. Ready is another. I doubt Bogaerts did much baseball related activity while he was gone, and Hanley had the full blown flu. He can't be at 100% yet. He still might be better than what they've been putting out there, but I would temper expectations. It might take another couple days.

I more or less share Youk's sentiments regarding the Os. They are almost as bad as the Yankees. I can't stand Showalter, and Gary Thorne is the worst.

That being the case, the Red Sox need to kick some butt tonight!

Pomeranz for the Win!

I could be wrong because in baseball almost anything could happen, but I do see this game as a throwaway. Bundy looks to be tough, and Pomeranz to be very un-tough.

And how long before the media and fans turn on the Sox and Farrell is on the hot seat if the Sox don't string some wins together?

Gary F. Thorne is just one more reason to hate the O's. He comes from my home state.. locally even... and I've heard his schtick ever since I can remember, it seems. The thing he does best is name-dropping. If you listen to him you'd think he's ******* buddies with every player in every sport. The douchiest of douches.

Oh.. and he used to write a column for the local newspaper too, before he got so self-important that he didn't have time to do it any more. But his not writing any more was a blessing for us so I'm not complaining.

feels like he's just winging it out there. For better or worse. Seems loose and not afraid, so that's good at least.

If pom makes it past the 5th I will be surprised.

Hopefully you will be eating that crow.
