Watching on my ipad at the office, but joined the game late. Porcello has looked pretty darn good to me. And that rally was fantastic. Right out of Earl Weaver's book--rely on good pitching and the 3 run dinger.

Exactly the kind of first game we could hope for... Hopefully I didn't jinx it

This is the first year I haven't paid much attention to spring ball.

What is Joe Kelly's role this year, and how did his spring training go?

I'm not quite seeing gold glove at 1B. He had two short hops--by Bogaerts and Sandoval-- and couldn't grab either one. The latter cost an unearned run.

Reliever, looks fine.

Matt Barnes continues to be a s*** show.

He just never looks confident....a big guy with small presence on the mound....

Just finished watching the game. Unlike some here, I can't goof off all day. (Yeah, that ticks me off.)

Nice win to open the season!

Go baseball!

Don't teachers get summers off?

Good win, good game overall. Porcello was excellent over 6 innings, then the error by Sandoval to kick off the 7th, which hurt along with Barnes ineptitude. Good plays in the outfield--Bradley in the triangle and Benintendi over the shoulder. Clearly, too, this lineup can hit although I have serious doubts about Moreland and would never bet him 5th, but what the heck. Kimbrel gave up the double off the monster and hit someone with his infamous knuckle curve, but otherwise looked very good for the save.

Great to start off with a win! Benintendi got on top of and mashed a big time (98 mph) heater. Porcello picked up right where he left off last year.
