I missed everything but the 9th when Pedroia GIDP and Porcello came out--boy, was I surprised! Family dinner with 2 brothers, a sister, and our spouses--whom my wife and I don't see often enough. Great night, especially when I first checked the score and the Sox were up 5-1.

 

FWIW, I checked the standings and the Sox are now .5 games behind the Guardians and 2 behind the Rangers.

 

Still plenty to worry about, however-the rotation, which has struggled lately, the bullpen, which has been out of sight and might regress, and the lineup which has been great lately but could also regress. Appropriately, tomorrow is ERod vs. Gausman, ERA of 4.98 vs. 3.43. Who said you're only as good as your next starter?

 

Boy, would I like to take this series in Baltimore, who these days I dislike more than the Yankees. I'm still pissed they took 2 of 3 in Fenway, both wins by 1 run.
