Win tonight and they will do no worse than a split. Which will knock four games right off the schedule. Unless Toronto sweeps the M's, which is unlikely. The win yesterday was huge.

Based SFF. Hope your family is well.

Much appreciated buddy. We are set to expand again in February, so things are only going to get crazier.

Hope you are also doing well.

Things are well here. If you are still in public accounting, having additional kids will be a driving factor for you to go private. My life got a lot easier once I got out of that churn and burn world.

Yeah, I've heard hardcore things about the world of public accounting.

Well I'm going to college next year for accounting...

Small bit of advice for you (without wanting to know anything about your family's financial situation): discount no school based on sticker price, especially private ones.

I paid far more for my older son to go to public Purdue than I did for my younger one to go to Notre Dame, even though ND's sticker price is much higher. Now, admittedly, Purdue was out of state, but with the academic scholarship he received, it was comparable in price to what it would have cost to go in-state to the University of Illinois (which gave no non-loan aid whatsoever). The younger one applied to a mixture of private and public, the privates all gave generous financial aid offers, the publics gave squat.

If you have your heart set on state U, fine. Go for it and good luck. But as I said, do not rule out any school until the all aid packages come in. You never know.

Thanks for the advice! I've been looking primarily at state schools, with the exception of Duke, Ga Tech, and Miami University. There are some places I want to go to more than others, and some, like UConn, that I would go to regardless of the amount of aid I get. It also might depend on where some of my friends end up going. If there's a group of us going to UConn, then I would rather be there than be the only one I know at a place like Ohio State, Miami, Duke, etc...

You'll make new friends no matter where you go.

I went into internal audit for a PTC right after the first baby came around. Quit the public job, jumped into private and took a few weeks off to stay home in between. Worked out well, and yeah, private is so much better. Glad things are well.

Yup. And to be honest, companies look for 3 letters a hell of a lot more than they look at college or GPA, particularly once you've been out for a couple years.

I'm aware of that. But, the first few weeks, before those new relationships form, can be so tough, especially far from home. It would be nice to have a little comfort zone to ease into it.

You need to re-prioritize young man!

Start looking at the ratio of girls to boys!!!

Increase the odds that you get laid soon and often!

Seriously though, back in the Day the best Accounting school around was Bentley College ( now University ).

I wonder if it's still good?

At one of my old firms, they hired a guy from BC and he was the dumbest person ever.

Bentley is ranked as the greatest accounting school in the nation, apparently.

At the end of the day, the name on the degree probably doesn't matter much anymore. You're good to go as long as you can pass the CPA.

You won't be alone the first few weeks of college. You'll be with thousands of other kids happy to be away from home and looking to make new friends.

Frankly, I don't give a f*** about boy to girl ratios.

I'd love to win the series, but splitting with the Os on the road would be acceptable. As you said, knocking 4 games off the schedule without the Os gaining anything on us would be huge.

Let's go!

Will you be giving your daughter the same advice?

My two girls both got this advise - Life begins after high school! My oldest went to UCONN - great school for whatever. It works.
