Hello friends of talksox, I am not aware of the rules of game thread but noticed one hadn't been made yet and thought I would take the liberty of making one, if this is allowed.

Big Dick Rick Porcello will take a 7-2 record and 4.00 ERA into San Fran vs Fat Albert Suarez and his 1-1 record and 3.18 ERA.

This game will be brought to you by Senquez Golson mojo.

Some of you may remember Golson as being a star corner at Mississippi, most notable who had a game winning interception in an upset of Alabama a few years ago, others may know him as being a 2nd round draft pick in the NFL by the Pittsburgh Steelers, however Golson has a huge linking to the Red Sox and may be the reason why we have Mookie Betts. Golson was drafted by the Red Sox in the 8th round of the 2011 draft. The Red Sox were confident Golson would sign and offered him a bonus over 1 million, however Golson was intent on playing football with Ole Miss and declined the Red Sox offer, at the same time, Mookie Betts, another Red Sox draft pick that year seemed unlikey to sign with Boston, until Golson declined the offer. Golson declining resulted in the Sox upping their offer to Mookie and keeping him from his dream school of the University of Tennessee and bringing him to Boston.

Who knows if Golson would be as good, better or worse then Betts, but I can say I honestly thank Golson for not letting Mookie get away.

Interesting story about Golson, whom I have never heard of.

West coast 10:00 start times stink.

But it's all good. Golson mojo will get it done! The Sox got this!

You can make a Gamethread if the last game was a loss. If the Sox win, whoever started the previous GT starts the new one, and continues starting them until the Sox lose. Then someone else takes over. So you're fine starting this one, but if the Sox win, you need to start tomorrow's, and so on until a Sox loss. If you start this one and they win and then forget to start tomorrow's, everyone will be very upset at you for messing up GT mojo.

I'm a Steelers fan and I didn't even know that story about Senquez. He has a bright future though, he is expected to start this year assuming he is healthy (he suffered a season ending injury last training camp) and I welcome his addition, because even if he is average, that's a huge upgrade. Steelers secondary is comparable to Red Sox rotation.

Is there something going on tonight that involves Senquez or Mookie or this just like a random fact?

I predict a not hitter from him....... in the first inning....

I expect him to hit more dingers than he gives up.

Fearless play.

Thankfully he wasn't hurt, reminded me a lot of that Swihart play and the Sox really cant afford to lose another OF.. We are getting thin.

I held my breath for a moment.

Porcello gives up another bomb, this time to a guy hitting .205, come the f*** on, enough with all these homers.

It wasn't a bad pitch, down and away. Probably could have been a inch further away. The hitter got him is all.

Wasn't saying it was a bad pitch, it's just getting frustrating to watch opposing teams hit so many homers off our pitching staff, especially Porcello.
