I am devoutly heterosexual. But I have rarely understood the fascination with a pair of tits.

Give me a woman with a pretty face, a nice ass, and a highly functional brain.

I've often thought and said that great big b(.)(.)bs are overrated. They're nice to look at as a novelty, but on the whole, yep. Overrated. JMO though!

Believe it or not, I can understand the fascination with women's breasts, and the rest of the female body. I am devoutly heterosexual myself, but I can appreciate the beauty and sexiness of other women. They are nice to look at. The gal in Slasher's avatar is very sexy. Not Chipper Jones sexy, but sexy.

IMO, intelligence is an extremely sexy quality.

I'm assuming Jackie won the last one, eh?

JBJ for the All-Star team.

It is great to see JBJ hitting so well. He's always been exciting to watch defensively. When he's hitting like he is right now, he's very exciting to watch offensively as well. Triples are more exciting to watch than HRs.

A major reason Ellsbury was not re-signed was the emergence of JBJ at that time. Everything written and said about him pointed to an absolute can't miss future. If he had not looked like such a can't miss prospect would Ellsbury have been resigned? I think yes. Now, JBJ is only 26. Could he still become that player who's enormous potential said that he would. I think so. It might not be in Boston, but I think he could still get there.

I have been worried about JBJ, I'm still worried as he is very streaky at the plate. But I knew a big deal for an aging injury prone player was a bad move by the Yanks. This was like saying goodbye to Pedro, painful at first but clearly the right move.

As for the avatar I'm pro boob. Definitely pro boob.

JBJ is so much more balanced at the plate this year. I think he ends up over .270. :)

To date (2016):

Bradley ($547k salary): 93 pa, .274/.333/.476/.810, 120 ops+, 2 sb, 0 cs (net +2)

Ellsbury ($21.1m salary): 98 pa, .247/.295/.371/.666, 88 ops+, 5 sb, 3 cs (net +2)

Right now, it's a slam dunk, Bradly has been by far the better player in 2016, for about 1/40th the price.

Hey Slash!!! Good to see you and a few of the other BDC folks here.

I like these for the purpose of seeing if choosing our youth over paying certain vets was worth it.

Keeping JBJ is starting to pay off as we can see Ellsbury getting older everyday with his injuries, lack of speed compared to past years, and his punch and judy hitting...

I agreed with letting him walk when he left. All he cared about was the $$$...sorry, but when were talking over 100m your decision should be based on where you think will be the best fit, not who has the deepest pockets. As weve seen so many players be unhappy with the team they chose because of $$$...

I don't get all the nasty comments about Ellsbury. We should be THANKING him for not taking the offer the Sox extended to him. I wouldn't want him now for what the Sox offered him then.

Did the Sox make him an offer? If so, what was it?

I don't know that any specific number was made public but Pete Abraham reported the Sox were negotiating with the goal of the final number being in the neighborhood of $100M. That's more than I'd be willing to pay him today.

A majority of the team, big contracts or long periods of time don't work out. Look at the guys the Sox have signed to long term contracts and there has been a lot of busts/bad moves. Sure, Manny worked out, but what about Lugo, Renteria (thankfully we traded him), Crawford (see renteria), Pablo, Price (so far), etc, etc, etc.Ellsbury is no exception.

@iamjoonlee According to FanGraphs value stats, Jackie Bradley has been an above-average hitter (4.1) and below-average fielder (-4.5) in ’16. #RedSox

Fangraphs blows.

Hahahahaha. I'd LOVE to see their criteria for that!

Ask me again why I have no faith in WAR.

Baseball-Ref has him with a negative defensive rating this year as well.

Well, if two stat sites say it then it must be right. /s/

If they start telling us that Pedey is only a mediocre second baseman do we believe that too?

Although he has made some nice highlight reel catches, hes also played a few balls off the wall very poorly. I wonder if thats affecting his war on D.

I know it was at our old stomping grounds where I made the call on JBJ making the leap at the plate, but....

BOS CF 30 104 14 30 7 4 3 15 7 28 2 0 .288 .342 .519 .861

JBJ is really tearing it up! As I said there, he will finish above .280 with an ops over .800. It's not a fluke. His balance & approach at the plate are like night and day. Look for close to 20 HR's also, as I said there. Kid is crazy powerful! He is a rising star, and is here to stay.
