I know it's Atlanta and they have been struggling this year but damn the Sox look fantastic tonight. Everything from Price to the offense. Just an absolute thing of beauty

It is fun to have a game like this once in a while.

Corny? And probably said 100 times before! But, as soon as Price started hitting the corners, the Braves couldn't hit anything. Very impressive!

Welp, hard to blame the kid for getting the yips in his debut outing, credit to him he settled down and started converting pitches.

He ate his way out of baseball and Cherington bought the groceries.

I'll be using that the next time someone asks me about Pablo.....

Very nice to get 8 innings from Price today. In the future though this sort of thing should either go in the gamethread or the Rotation thread. Just a quick heads up since you seem new. I expect the mods will likely merge this post in with one of those..

Light has good stuff, he could be a useful relief pitcher if he can settle down a bit. I'm disposed to give him a mulligan for the first few big league hitters he ever faced.

If I may change the subject and ask for some advice...I'm flying into to Boston this summer to take my son to his first Red Sox game. My wish is to fly in, take a train or some form of public transportation to a hotel that has easy access to transportation to Fenway. Any suggestions on a hotel? It is my first trip to Boston so I have no clue of where to stay.

Enough of the Light bag lapping.

He is known for two things.

A 97 MPH fastball, and being wild.

It was good to see him get three straight outs after the way he started.

Off to Pawtucket.

Did anyone seriously think that David Price was not going to be an ace for the Red Sox this year? As long as he stays healthy he is going to perform as he has always performed. Kudos to Dombrowski for going out and getting the best available SP.

The Red Sox spent a large amount of money on him in free agency. That usually means that the player's career is almost over.

That's silly.

even though it was against the Braves, I think Price needed the confidence boost. hopefully it starts him on a tear allowing the pen to re energize. ERod and Smith coming back soon also brings this staff pretty much to full strength. next 20 games to set the tone on where the team is heading, what its needs are to the trade deadline, and is JF the solution or the problem

I can see utl inf being a need. not a Rutledge fan, and like Marrero's glove and headiness, but seems the team does not.

Much prefer Holt in that position, but again, seems the team has no interest in Rusney playing every day in Boston

Cannot play PD and X into the ground. Shaw is also going to need a breather

You all will have to excuse us BDCers, who are used to starting threads about whatever we want: threads about something there's already three threads about, threads about something we started a thread about yesterday, threads about somebody else's threads, threads about how our dog farted across the room and it's Ben Cherington's fault, and so on.

I like the slightly more structured atmosphere here, but there might be a bit of a learning curve.
