Boooooo!

Ditto.

Don and Jerry cutting up is what makes blowouts bearable.

Hopefully, for Don's sake, it's for a national gig.

But, games wont be the same without him.

Orsillo and Remy are very informative and entertaining even when the games are boring and meaningless. I like Dave Obrien on the radio.

I guess they think the problem is not with our roster. They just need a better propagandist.

BTW, I noticed that 37,000 + fans were cramming into Fenway for the KC series. We have drawn more fans in last place than first place KC. Damn those reactionary fans filling the owners pockets as they continue to put out a garbage product! It is fear of the fans why Ben made all of those bad moves. They got rid of Orsillo. Remy needs to go next and then they need to attract a different fan base. That's what is wrong with this team -- the announcers and the fans.

f*** Joseph Maar, Nesn's VP who apparently is responsible for this ********. Can we go picket outside his house or something?

That's what I'm thinking. Maar sounds like a real jerk. I will miss Orsillo.

Don was great. I remember being a bit bummed when Sean was let go - who originated the RemDawg stuff and berated home plate umpires - and he's still my favorite. (Ned had lost his fastball by the time I got to it) But Don was a terrific foil and I've watched the boob grab clip on youtube a few times today since the word.

I';m going to ask you guys to do something a bit out of the ordinary but I think we need to show a bit of patience here. We do not know whether or not this was Orsillo's own idea. Until we know that bit, throwing blame around for who's responsible and why is way premature. We already know Orsillo's been doing some national broadcasts. If he's got a contract at the national level and that's why he's leaving it'd be a lot different than simply being thrown out on his butt because his asking price was too high.

I'm actually pretty sad about it. I watched a few red sox games over the past 7 years and him and Remy seemed like a great pairing. Sad to see him go, but hopefully he can pick up a job elsewhere.

Your request is denied.

f*** Joseph Maar with a cattle prod.

I had not heard any mention of this until today.

I think that it sucks big time. The word I have heard is that this is a NESN decision.

If so, the Sox have f***ed up again.

@PeteBlackburn: So the dude who fired Orsillo made his Twitter account private today after word got out. What a coward.

That's awesome.

Coward is putting it nicely.

Here's a funny tweet I read earlier:

"Better ideas than getting rid of Don Orsillo: Signing Hanley, playing him in left field."

@DavidCGoucher: So, I've known Don for 20 yrs. Great guy. Scary part is, he's as good as it gets, did all that was asked, loyal. And got shown the door.

Dave Goucher is just great too.

@MikeSilvermanBB: Remy, with deep emotion, speaks about Orsillo: "been absolutely fabulous to work with. I love him."

@GordonEdes: More Remy: "You get used to somebody...you work together for such a long time, you have such a good time doing your job, [and] it’s over.''

@GlobeChadFinn: If NESN ever tries to claim Orsillo did something wrong, don't believe it. It'll be a crafted response to your backlash. He didn't, ever.

"“For the last 15 years it’s been an absolute pleasure to work with Don,” an emotional Remy told a small group of reporters immediately after the broadcast. “I can remember him sitting in the booth when the job became available. He was asking me if there was any chance he could probably get it. I said a few things to a few people and he did get it. He’s been an outstanding partner for 15 years and I’m truly going to miss him ‘€“ on a work-related side, and I’m going to miss him on a personal side because he’s also become a very, very close friend of mine. I know that he’s going to land on his feet and he’s going to be in great shape. I’m sure they’re going to be lining up for his services, I really mean that. He’s terrific at what he does. He’s been absolutely fabulous to work with. I love him. He’s going to do just fine. I’m not worried about that part of it.

I’ve been very fortunate because I’ve worked with a lot of good people and he’s right at the top of the list.”

Hit the nail on the head Jacko!!!

"The Boston Globe’s Chad Finn had a story today that said, “According to industry sources, Orsillo was never a favorite of Joseph Maar, NESN’s vice president of programming and production/executive producer who arrived at the network in July 2012.” I had someone reach out to me with knowledge of the situation, who confirmed that it was Maar behind the decision to let Orsillo walk. Maar, if you recall, was the same person who was responsible for letting Naoko Funayama leave back in 2013, which was heavily criticized, and rightfully so."
