What about you? What's this about me looking for a pissing contest? Where the hell did you grab that one from. Who am I trying to have a pissing contest with? If you read the game thread from front to back you'd see there are a lot of posters who are very pissed off at what has been going down with our starting pitching and our lack of real hitting lately. I'm not looking for any pissing contest, just to remind you. I'm looking for a team that is supposed to hit like it was intended and for the pitching staff to grow some balls and help us win more than two games in a row. Capice?

 

Fred, you spent all last week taking people to task for a silly comment calling you a goober. That is all I was refering to. You even issued a "mea culpa" for acting like a brat. At least have some self awareness...

Here is a novel idea. How about just taking the high road and refuse to become involved with the discord if you find it so distasteful?

 

You were back from your vacation to the Right Coast only a couple of days when you stuck your beak into something that did not involve you. Further, you made incendiary comments about at least one of "us" that were completely off base.

 

Far be it from me to be the voice of reason and maturity. I poke fun at others and call people out too. But I never do it with malice. That is the key. If you don't like somebody here just don't get into it with them.

 

My bad ex-wife ( the Russian "suka" ) used to say "Do not touch the s*** and you will not smell like the s***".

Right mvp, but that was LAST week and I did issue a Mea Culpa. I have bent over backwards not to insult anyone even in retaliation for something said to me. Why remind me of something that should be well in the wind by now? My anger is not directed at you, User, Spud, 700 Hitter, iortiuz or Kimmi. It is frustration directed at a manager who doesn't know when to pull a tiring pitcher, a rotation made of paper men who can't gut it out more than five innings, a suppose vaunted hitting attack that is dead in the water, and players in the lineup who shouldn't even be in there and a couple who aren't that should. Last night's game was a miserable example of hitting, pitching, and managing.

Also, When U? insults other posters I do not see this kind of recommendations coming from you Spud, on the other hand when I make a comment which is not even directed to nobody you come with this. I know you like U? and all but I think that if you are going to make a recommendation like this it shall work in both ways, don't you think?

It is not childish response Spud, It is a honest one. Probably I'm wrong, but I have not seen these kind of recommendations from you when U? starts a fight, insults or bullys someone in this board, probably because he is your friend, which is fine, but if you are going to make a recommendation like this I think you have to do it in both ways as I said.

 

Also, my comment was in general. It wasn't directed to anybody. Not to you at all. When the team lose, the fights always are around, you know that... again it was the reason I found it hilarious, since I was away for a week and the same s*** is around, lead by your friend.

That's the crux of this whole thing Ted. All of us have the right to plaster criticism on Farrell, the players, the GM and not have to worry about being attacked. As long as we don't attack a fellow poster it is none of anybody's f***ing business if I rip Farrell for his s***** use of personnel, or that Cherington royally screwed up putting this addled team together with enough holes to make Swiss cheese. You want to disagree with me and look like a fool and praise what can't be justified, fine....do it. And I won't attack you, but if I go after others not board members I don't expect to hear any ******** from anyone save for the fact that they disagree with me and that they think I'm wrong for this or that reason. Understood?

 

If we all do that we will have a board where there is some real debate but the personal anger and hard feelings will be absent. By now you all know that I think Farrell is a stubborn and stupid manager who couldn't carry Showalter's or Girardi's jock, and that we have people on the team who should not be on it and that Farrell's use of personnel is totally horseshit. Two God damn games in a row we have played like s*** heelers and from what I'm seeing it may get worse before it gets better. I would make one suggestion....and it is only a suggestion. All my colleagues should cease telling everyone that t his or that team is f***ed....Right now we should see that our team is the one that might be f***ed and better to let sleeping dogs lay because the Gods of Fate don't like it when we run some other team down with curses and expletives while it is our team that is stinking things up right now. Hitters get cold. It happens, there isn't much sense ragging on that. I don't like our bullpen, but bullpens can be fickle and they can change a lot over the course of a season. Whatever. The #1 thing that everyone has every right to be concerned about is the starting pitching; not just the quality of the starts themselves, but the fact that nobody is going deep into games. Seriously, that SUCKS. If our pitchers keep shorting out after like 85 pitches (in the fifth or sixth inning no less) then that will kneecap our ability to get anything going this season.

I'm still all in on our crappy pitching rotation. Miley and Porcello will average out. Buch and Kelly look alright. And hell if Masterson hasn't pulled out two good outings in a row. We are in for some serious beat downs facing some hitting teams....... Holy crap start drinking before we play Toronto.

 

I think Ogando is alright, beside a messed up walk for no reason tonight. Tazawa looks good. Ross and Last of the Mujicans scare the crap out of me.

 

Tampa has some serious pitchers. Serious. They are going to cause some fits to other teams.

 

We'll get cranking the hitting.

 

What bugs me is that we could take the ALE this year. Every team in it is not right. We add a piece or two and we will take the ALE, it's too bad we don't have those pieces now.

If you feel someone is being unfairly maligned you have every right to defend them in a forum. Going after another poster personally is a whole other matter.

To personally attack people that we converse with every day over opinions about sports is pathetic. It just is. No one is accusing these public figures of criminal or immoral behavior. They are public figures and having their performance criticized goes with the territory. Sometimes the criticism is not fair, but it is nothing for people to get worked up about to the point of trashing up the board with personal insults of other members.

The reason of these lost games has been untimely hitting. The Red Sox are hitting .078 with RISP in the last seven games. This plain sucks!!!

on the bright side we have been able to win 3 out of last 7 games which could have been worse.
