I'm not so sure that Nava and Craig are on the outs. And I'm not so sure that keeping them on the roster for now is going against the "best player for the roster spot" decision.

Craig has been a shell of himself for a year plus and hasn't shown the same power he had in StL. Nava is a no power COF who plays s*** defense and takes a walk. Castillo is the better player by far.

Some one should let Ben know that he is making himself look bad by disagreeing with me. Putz.

Try calling 1-800-236-7889 or 1-800-BEN-PUTZ if you prefer.

People want to ignore that the Sox are conservative. They aren't going to dump a veteran for a newcomer coming out of spring training. They probably believe a vet is the right guy for RF or the bench right now, but if things don't work out or there are injuries, they'll be glad to give young guys an opportunity. Plus dropping a vet could cause clubhouse issues no matter how great Farrell may be at putting out fires.

Yeesh, Mr. Objective. And if Craig's numbers last year were health-related and he bounces back? Craig's career OPS vs. LHP is .837. Nava's vs. RHP is .813. Nava's defensive ratings also improved last year.

LOL!!! I thought the number was a joke, but when I called they answered "Boston Red Sox". Hey, I'm not his keeper. If he insists upon embarrassing himself, that is his business.

So, I finally caught myself watching my first live ST action last night, and the first play I saw was Weeks' error in the 9th. Not a good sign.

Weeks is excess and he should be gone by the time the regular season begins. He never developed in Oakland and has rolled around baseball the past few years. Those types hardly ever get it together. Besides we have Brock Holt and that pretty much send Jamaal elsewhere, and this Bianchi doesn't seem to be bad either.

Castillo is the better player based on what? Minimal innings at the big league level? I'm hoping that he will be a far better player than Craig or Nava, but that's not a given in the role that Craig and Nava are expected to play right now as bench players. You said yourself that Castillo needs the at bats. Having him sitting on the bench is not going to do him any good.

By all reports, Craig's swing looks much better this year than it did last. From what I've heard, he is looking more like that player he was a couple of years ago than the player he was last year.

I think the Sox learned their lesson last year in trying to start 3 youngsters at 3 key positions, and not having the depth to cover those guys in case of injury or underperformance. The 2013 team had incredible depth. Last year's team did not. Injuries and underperformances are inevitable. The more depth and flexibility you can keep on your team, the better.

I saw that last night and laughed. That Pedroia!!! He has a natural humor. That alone justifies his contract!!!!

Great picture! You gotta love Pedroia.

It was funny how quickly the regulars played the first 4 innings of their game today. You think they're ready to get the season started? LOL
