The Red Sox are among the top teams in the Grapefruit League. Onto the Mayor's Cup!

They won the Major's cup yesterday, I believe.

They lead the series 4-1 according to Remy.

The Twins are our bitches.

Too bad we only have 2 series with them each season. If they were in the division, we would rack up 14-15 wins against them per year.

I thought there were 5 more games against the Twins? Remy never was good at math.

9-7 loss to Toronto today, bad day for Steven Wright

Steve Wright, who allowed four runs -- three earned -- four hits and four walks in 3 2/3 innings. Wright hopes to make the Red Sox roster as the fifth starter

Why the fudge are Don and Jerry calling spring training? They already call 162 games a year. Give other announcers a turn. Keep Don nice and fresh for opening day.

Tbh, They both take a ton of time off. I think Don is scheduled for two straight weeks off after the ASB.

They break camp very soon. How many OF's are still in camp? They have some big decisions to make in the next day or so.

Apparently Farrell has confirmed that Victorino will be the Opening Day RF. So I'd say Castillo or Nava has to be relocated by then. I'm still betting it's Castillo.

I think someone gets DFA'd and traded. Coco Crisp is out for 8 weeks. The A's could use one of our spare OFers -- Craig or Nava. Castillo is coming north with us.

Castillo, JBJ, and Humberto have been assigned to Pawtucket. Craig and Nava are breaking camp with the team.

And all three will be back up at some point. That is if the Sox can resist trading Bradley.

I don't see the two remaining varsity catchers starting a full 162. And who knows when Swihart will be up? Hopefully not until mid-season at the earliest.

Interesting. All that money in Pawtucket.

Castillo is making approx. $2 million a month. It'll be surprising if he spends even one full month there.

Castillo will no doubt be back up. I'm not so sure about JBJ and Humberto. That depends on a number of factors.

I'm a big JBJ fan. I really hope the Sox do not trade him.

It is a lot of money, but it comes down to Castillo having options, and the Sox not wanting to sacrifice its depth or flexibility this early in the season. As Farrell said, Castillo is here for the long-term. If he produces, the Sox will more than get their money's worth out of his contract.

Trade bait/DFA depending upon production.

You should drive up one weekend and visit Casa del Pedro. We could go watch the best MiLB outfield play in McCoy. That would be a fookin' blast. We could make a video of two old fat guys scouting the minors. It would go viral!!!! Image in the fireworks!!!!! And not the kind they light off st McCoy.

Castillo will benefit from playing every day. He did miss some time for his journey, so reps are important for him. I know a lot of rosy glassed people out there are thinking the sox are playoff bound and for some reason the pundits think so too, but this move is not in keeping with a "best player for the roster spot" decision. This is clearly a showcase for two guys who are on the outs with the hopes that they recoup enough value to get something back in trade

Some one should let Ben know that he is making himself look bad by disagreeing with me. Putz.

He's probably scared to play against you in fantasy baseball too.

Could be eventually, but I'm glad that both are still with the team. I think the team's depth is one of its strengths this year.

I'm not so sure that Nava and Craig are on the outs. And I'm not so sure that keeping them on the roster for now is going against the "best player for the roster spot" decision.

I know it's only spring training, but I get the early sense that you can't count this team out of most games.
