And what's with the kids these days and their Walkmans and their gigapets and their rap music?

Lol! Very funny. I hate to break the news to you but you are part of the same dying breed.

No, I know. On some level I agree with you guys. I hate that so many people only pay special attention to their favorite team and couldn't name all of the other teams, let alone their players. Watching baseball for the sake of baseball does not exist at the same level anymore. I'm a baseball fan first and a Red Sox fan second, and that's why Kansas City is so damned exciting this season. It's sad that more people don't hold this opinion.

The one plus about it is that it makes it easier to get tickets when your team isn't playing great.

My case is a little different than the two of yours but we still are on the same wave length. I watch baseball because I love the game no matter who is playing, but as a convert to the Red Sox cause I have become a true believer and can never say I'm a baseball fan first.......I'm a Red Sox fan first and foremost, but at the same time I look forward to setting down in front of my TV and soak in all the positive vibes soon to be coming up when the Giants meet the Cardinals. I once used to laugh when someone told me that rooting for the Red Sox was different than rooting for some other team while I mumbled ******** under my breath. Those guys were right. Once you're a Red Sox fan it is a life sentence......and most likely beyond that. Let's enjoy the game tonight guys. At least we all know that baseball is first and always will be with us. Frankly, football really can bore the s*** out of me, truth be told.

You guys out there saw this game. Now someone tell me that baseball isn't the greatest game in the world. Boring????? The only people who think baseball is boring are bores themselves. Just for the hell of it, during inning breaks I tuned to NBC to see that Sunday Night Football game between the other Giants and the Eagles. No comparison. That was a big bore. The only bummer of baseball tonight, if there indeed was one, was that our team wasn't playing in it.

Giants didn't deserve to lose this game. They were just in the Wong place at the Wong time.

Still the comedian. Let me know when you're working the Improv---I'd like to catch your act.

Though it is not over in the ALCS (remember us in 2004), the Royals season up to now is one of he best stories of the 2014 baseball season. Though it disappoints me that our team isn't in the ALCS you can't help feeling good for KC and their long suffering but totally loyal fans. If they sweep the O's tomorrow they get in the World Series for the first time in 29 years, and keep in mind that most of those seasons have been downers. I also hope the Royals go on to win the WS and all of you ought to know why. Do you? Let's see who can tell me first.

is it because both the Giants and Cardinals have won two WS's in the last decade while it's been nearly three decade's since the Royal's won their one and only or even been in the playoff's since then? That's my reasoning at least. Edited by Divinity

Because XB is a choker , JBJ sucks and will never hit, and together they are crap warmed over? :P

Because if EITHER the Giants OR the Cardinals win, they'll tie the Red Sox for most World Series wins in the 21st century with 3.

Very good...I can't believe I didn't think of it myself.

Nice try Spud, though I don't have the foggiest idea of what the hell you were trying to tell me. Your statement was true but not the answer I was looking for. Save that answer for another time. I'm sure it will be appropriate then since the statement is true.

Ahi Caramba Dojii!!!!! Right on the money---and I wouldn't like it one twit if either of those outfits won it.

Maybe it's because you've been hanging around with Spud for too long. His answer was a gem, but the right answer to the wrong question.;)

Watching the Orioles on the verge of being swept is bittersweet to me. On one hand, I hate the goddamn Orioles and I hate Buck Showalter even more. On the other hand, you all know about Ami and the Orioles and it kind of sucks that they waited until it was too late to finally be a competitive team, she would have loved this. And I would have loved laughing maniacally at her while her team got bounced out of the postseason by Kansas f***ing City ahahahahah. Oh well. Go KC!

...and that's it. The motherf***ing Kansas City Royals are going to the World Series. Holy s***. When I joined TalkSox, the Royals were the go-to synonym for hopelessness along with the Pirates. Over the years other teams have taken over that mantle: The Rays and Orioles, the Mariners for a while, the Nats at first, the Rockies...all of them have gotten much better. Now it's the Astros mostly, and even they look to have a bright future. I f***ing love baseball. This is awesome.

Love that they won the AL - REALLY surprised they swept Baltimore.

Go Royals! I'm giddy that they embarrassed the O's like that. One thing is for sure: the whole country will be pulling for them in the WS.

Now I just need the Cards to beat the f***ing Giants. I can then live with whoever wins the series.

I hope there are still some trueblue Royals fans around to enjoy this, not just fake bandwagoners.

Also, a KC burger joint was having a special with 1985 prices and the local news did a story. The female reporter asked the owner if she could try a burger and he said "I would love to see my meat in your mouth." Douchechills.

I am so happy that Showalter went down without a victory.

Definitely. Showalter losing the ALCS is sweet, Showalter losing the ALCS in a sweep is even sweeter. The only thing that would have made it better was a no-hitter being mixed in somewhere.

So, who is your series MVP? I have no serious argument with them picking Cain, but I would have gone with Holland.
