Definitely. Showalter losing the ALCS is sweet, Showalter losing the ALCS in a sweep is even sweeter. The only thing that would have made it better was a no-hitter being mixed in somewhere.

So, who is your series MVP? I have no serious argument with them picking Cain, but I would have gone with Holland.

it's really a tough call in this series. No one put the team on his back and carried them to victory. I think a good argument can be made for Holland. These games were so tight with no room for error.

I think that it's great that the Royals are so hot now. I hope that they can win it all.

Does anyone believe that the Cards can come back and win 3 in a row? I don't see that happening.

F the O's lol. I think it's awesome that KC is in the WS. Hope they win it all!

Right now I will send out an SOS to the Royals for when they play the Giants. Yes, the Cardinals are dead as a doornail. The first thing Royals is when you face a pinch hitter leading off an inning, get him OUT. Do not let him single or walk or you will pay for it. KC must also not get too conservative---run at the Giants, force them to play defense. Do not let them sit back. Thirdly, have a quick hook for any starting pitcher who dallies by the wayside. If they don't have it, get their asses out of the game likity split. That's how you have the best chance of beating that team.

San Fran gets handed another series victory. I hope KC destroys them. KC fought for everything this post-season.

I do too my friend, but I have to admit that my reasons are very selfish. If the Giants win it means they have won three World Series this century and right now we are the only ones to have done that. As a very provincial person I don't like to share my team with any other and I would hope most Red Sox fans feel the same way. If, say, the Giants had only one ONE WS this century I wouldn't really care who won this time around.

i want KC to win because its been a long time since they even qualified for the post season. they are just a fun team to watch.

This is how I feel.

The two teems seem to be evenly matched. The series should be fun to watch.

Interesting factoid...the Royals are the only current MLB team who have never had a 40-HR season from any player. The Pirates and the Twins have not had one since 1973 and 1970 respectively, and the Marlins haven't since 1996. Everyone else has had at least one since 2000. But the Royals...never, in all their history. Very surprising.

Interesting piece of info Youk but can't say that I'm surprised. That team has always seemed to put gap power and consistent hitting over the lumbering slugger. What I am surprised about is that the Royals are the only team in the Bigs who haven't had a 40 homer man. It seems to me that there should be a couple of other teams in that category too and the fact that they aren't does surprise me. Now if the Royals could just take the Series it would certainly please the daylights out of me because we'd still be the only team with three titles this century.

Who's ready for the World Series to begin?

Predictions anyone?

I'll go with the Royals in 5 games.

I want the Royals to prevail. But I see the Giants taking it in 6.

We're simpatico Spud. I want the Royals to win but I see the Giants in six as well. Odds are we'll be right.

This series could get ugly in the giants favor.Where did shields get the nickname "big game"?He hasn't been good in this postseason.

It's a very unfortunate and ironic nickname. It must be in his head now. 'Hmmm...I'm called Big Game but I keep sucking in the postseason...hmmm.'

I think the Giants might roll away with this. In all honesty KC was playing over their heads.

It was just a matter of time before they'd play like they usually do, an average team.

Some of the nitwit writers we have our here in So. Cal have apparently either gotten stars in their eyes or have been sniffing stuff not good for them. One such character is Bill Shaikin, who writes the column "On Baseball" as the feature baseball scribe of the LA Times. He came out yesterday and predicted the Royals in four---pretty much of what you'd expect from a fuzzy headed Dodger fan who drank their Kool Aid all summer and previously predicted that team would win it all just before the playoffs began. There's always a chance one of us can make a prediction and wind up looking silly, but no one with a modicum of grey matter should have made that four sweep prediction. Fact is, I wouldn't be surprised if the Giants won the thing in five games, one better than my prediction of the Jints in six. Just be grateful that you have real baseball writers who know s*** from shinola in your neck of the woods (I'm thinking around Boston) than some of the dingbats we have out here. I'd be totally shocked if this thing went seven games and on stroke watch if the Royals won it even though I hope they would. After all, I want only our team to have three titles this century and not someone else to have to share it with.

Why is there a guy with a Marlins jersey sitting in the front row behind the plate? A scout?

Could be a cross checker, that is, a scout that looks over Big League teams for his club to lay the groundwork for trades that might be in the offing come December or January. Of course, he could also just be a fan who likes baseball and has a Florida connection. When I take my wife to an Angels game, say against the A's, there I am in Red Sox regalia and I wonder what some fans at home think when they something like that. Probably what you're thinking about seeing that guy in a Marlins jacket. Those are the most likely possibilities.

Yes Shields hasn't been great, but I bet he still gets big money in the FA market.

The question is will the Red Sox put up or shut up for solid pitching. Our starting rotation right now is little more than dog poo, and don't anyone with a sound and functioning mind try to tell me that Clay Buchholz is a good choice to be our "ace". Ass yes, ace, NO, NEIN, NYET, NO MAS!!!!! Kelly is a number three at best and De La Rosa showed the last month why I have always maintained he is s*** on a roll. Good stuff, nothing upstairs and that means problems down the road. Webster? The guy with the deer in the headlights look? Are you freakin' kidding me.

Henry and Lucchino brought this all on themselves when they low balled our ace and let him go, then traded away John Lackey. It is going to cost money and or players to get the two top notch pitchers we need because if we don't plan on having another dry spell circa 2009-2012. BTW, by two top notch pitchers I don't mean Masterson, Hammels or Santana.

Thus ends game 3. Kansas City did more than just go up 2-1, they completely altered the momentum of this series. Even tied at one game apiece, it seemed like Kansas City was playing defense against a more experienced postseason team, but now the Giants are the ones with their backs against the wall. Glad to see KC not only putting up a fight, but taking a series lead and showing that the Giants aren't the only team who can take the opening game on the road. The Royals are proving that they are no 2007 Rockies. It's a four-game series now, the Giants need to win three of them, and frankly I don't see that happening. I stand by my prediction of the Royals in 5 or 6 games.
