We do not lose on April 9th.

We win on April 9th.

We win today.

Well you hit it on the head SFF----especially we do not lose on April 9. It was on this date 149 years ago that Robert E. Lee surrendered his traitorous brand of miscreants ending for all intents and purposes the American Civil War. Hell, how can a Southern State beat a Northern one on a day like this? They can't and they didn't. Nice win.....we needed to take this series.

The Red Sox are not moving Bogaerts to 3B for Stephen Drew. Bogaerts would have to be awful defensively to justify that switch.

Drew is definitely an upgrade over Roberts and Herrera, but Roberts and Herrera won't be the 3B when Middlebrooks comes back. Paying Drew $10 million (at the minimum) to be better than Roberts and Herrera for 100-200 PA's is a waste of money. I have absolutely no idea what Boras and Drew want in the first place. The Red Sox offered him the QO and he turned that down. They offered him a depth role, and he didn't accept that either. There has to have been better offers from other teams. None managed to convince him to sign.

Maybe if Bogaerts gets hurt, Drew would be back on the table.

RJ, I find this nostalgia for Drew a mite sickening. The guy made his bed and he now has to sleep in it. Besides, didn't Boras say he had two three year offers on the table? Where are those offers now? There aren't or weren't any. Besides, does everyone understand Stephen has NOT faced live pitching since October 30th of last year? He has had no ST, and remember when he came back from that concussion last Spring. It took him about a month to do any hitting at all......AND HE HAD A SPRING TRAINING OF SORTS IN 2013. No my friends, that dog will not hunt.

How come it feels that this victory still feel like we've just come through a shipwreck? Even our wins are tension filled. Lets all be on our good behavior to the Gods of Fate that we go into Yankee Stadium and come out Sunday night in better shape than when we went in.

I did not even know when the Sox were playing today, that's how busy I was. I started in LF today, and went 2-4 in a 17-10 loss. And it was a home game. It will be worse on Friday, when I'll be on the road for the first time.

You should start a road diary and keep us all aware of everything going on! Get a bad seat on the bus? Post about it! Coach brought the wrong flavored Gatorade? Let us know! Accidentally swallow a sunflower sead? Tell tell tell!

I don't find it sickening. I just don't understand why some think it's possible. The Red Sox are not moving Bogaerts off SS for Drew. Drew is not going to torpedo his future value by playing a position that he has never played. Even if he was amendable to that, how much would the Red Sox value 250-350 PA of Stephen Drew? Definitely not close to his asking price. There has to be a better offer. I refuse to believe that the best offer Drew has is at least 50% less than the QO, and not even to play SS.

I'm also skeptical that Drew in this role is more than a marginal upgrade over Roberts and Herrera. What about Cecchini? Too much money chasing too little an improvement.

Holy mother of consecutive posts.

I'm not even trying to be funny. I think he sets aside time everyday to read through each posts and write long, sometimes meaningless posts.

There's no reason to be sardonic. Change two letters in his username and you'd have a bunch of hilarious ******** about being in the minor leagues, this is much better.

Papi earned his pay today. The guy has a flair for the dramatic. Saw that homer. He doesn't miss mistakes in that situation.

I don't know if Ted Williams had as many big hits as this guy.

Unfortunately, Williams had very few big hits in terms of resulting in meaningful late-season or postseason wins for the Sox. Williams was on 3 teams that were close either to winning it all or winning the pennant. And he did little in the crucial games for those 3 teams.

A lot of that was just bad luck, no doubt.

I believe that he hit his one and only inside the park home run to clinch the 1946 pennant.
