Ryan Roberts is this team's 3rd baseman for the forseeable future. Why not Stephen Drew? Why?

 

He won't agree to be in a three-man shuffle between 3B and SS. He'd be overpaid in that role, even if he agreed. He'd be a complete unknown defensively at 3B. He might have made one less out in that situation against a LHP by striking out instead of grounding into a double play.

Yeah but he could play SS and Xander could play 3B.. Doesn't matter how you slice it Drew is a huge upgrade over Roberts, Herrera and all these other guys we've been playing out there.

BTW, 86 and sunny down here in Tejas....had an unusually cold winter - below freezing on at least 8 nights. Grew up in Revere, moved to Scranton and State College, then to Texas....lots of s*** down here makes me scratch my head, but can never complain about the weather.
