I would just like to point out that Steven Wright pitched 3 shutout innings tonight to make this all possible.

And Gomes great defense as he threw someone out at 3rd and made a great catch.

Can you believe this s***. Baseball is such a terrific game. How many seasons of late has there been something like this year's Red Sox, seemingly destiny bound. O's with their 29 1 run game wins. 11 walk off wins for the Sox this year. Glad it appears to be us doing it this year.

What I did find interesting is that Wright's last appearance was in a game where they came from behind against the Mariners and Wright got the win after the Sox game back to win 8-7.

What's even more interesting imo is in both games Wright bailed out a crappy start from Dempster.

Shut up, you called the game when it was only 2-1.

Hey. Against guys like Price and Hernandez nights like these seem impossible...

SO glad I kept watching this game!! Had to log of from this Cesspool of Negativity because I couldn't take it. You constantly negative posters ruin the Game Threads these days! Shut THE f*** UP! Anything can happen. It's baseball. Quit whining in the early innings.

What's even more awesome is that Papelbon blew an 8 shutout inning performance from Hamels. It was only his first loss on the season but his 6th blown save bringing his ERA to 2.59.

I see the Rays aren't tweeting so much now. They were talking so much s*** because they were in first place. That didn't even last a week lmao.

Not to mention that they didn't acknowledge that they got a lot of assistance from the refs.

While there is truth to this, the negativity illustrates the point that there are things that can be done with the team to prevent future games of this nature....ie phantom DL'ing Dempster.

Lmao, they last 2 days and acted like they were the s***. They took multiple shots at the Red Sox. Now they just look stupid. You can tell they've been waiting since April to post that, scrubs.

Without a doubt especially on a dollar for dollar level. The durability concern with Uehara is there (why he's not paid more) but otherwise ... tonight was pretty special. Wright probably gets squeezed by Peavy's arrival - Workman becomes the "multi-inning reliever" most likely. But he has shown some value.
