Guess not, oh well, I'm still happy with 8 runs being scored. I have no idea what this means for the rotation, but at least they both sucked so it's not like we can play the "what if" game.

Thank God that's over!

Dammit! Split the series tomorrow!!!!

So much for forsyth telling us this was the soft part of the schedule. You can't predict baseball.

Get them tomorrow and we rolled back to our front rotation starters for the weekend.

Felix is not even trying to throw many FB's tonight it seems...Does not want to throw it...I don't blame him. But you can't look at that and say he should be starting games going forward. He may end up being all they have but frankly I would expect him to get shelled throwing the way he has thrown.... the last couple of weeks especially.

On another board I referred to the guys the Red Sox got from the Dodgers in that salary dump last August as fools gold because I knew damn well that they had the worst farm system in the game. Now to be fair to Webster maybe this was just an off day but what if it wasn't? The LA Bums talked this guy up and down but his numbers were average at best from what I heard. Suffice to say it seems to me that we had better be certain that we win the vast majority of games Lester, Buchholz and Dempster pitch because we are not very adept at No. 4 and I still have some doubts about Lackey's staying power after he throws four or five innings.

Oh, let me be honest. I'm just totally pissed off at what's happened the last six games.

These kind of games annoy me to no end. f***ing s*** stain, nobody, small market teams that dont even finish with a winning record have NO BUSINESS vulturing wins from us!! NONE!!! I would've been fine if we had this kind of game after sucking the first month (which many people thought would happen before the season started) but don't tease me with success and then put this steaming pile of s*** in front of me!!

That's what I want to hear Alphilip because I feel exactly the same way. I'm totally pissed off because I feel I was totally fooled by the fast start. The Red Sox have looked like s*** warmed over the past six games and if we don't get that s*** together it is going to get worse. We've let too many other teams push us around the past year and a half and that has to stop. As you've saids we've seem to have become a steaming pile of s*** and it hurts.

All teams have rough stretches. The Rangers are one of the best teams and crush teams at home, those types of series happen. This one hasn't gone great either but they could very easily split tomorrow and be back on track.

We have had a surprising fast start and played much better than the experts expected, but for a reality check the O's will have an identical record if we lose this game and the Yankees are 2 games behind us with half of a team.

Yankees are tied in the L column.

Well isn't that just dandy? The Sox are faltering, so it must be a perfect time to brag in our faces.

Mr Sensitive. I was just correcting a700 who noted the Yankees were "2 games behind" when in fact we're 1 and tied in the L column. But I'm a Yankee fan so you can't handle a little good natured ribbing?

They have managed to hang in there. Girardi would have been happy not to be buried 6 or 7 games at this point with this crew.

When a good pitcher gets hit, it usually means he is making his pitches too good--down the middle of the plate.

I figure maybe Salty had something to do with that. Ross is much better behind the plate, and caught Webster last time. Salty doesn't frame pitches on the corners--usually puts his glove in the middle of the plate, the last place it should be. That much we can see. As to what pitches he calls, we can't judge that.

They'd have been better off bringing Lav up to catch Webster, who is more familiar with him, and is a better catcher than Salty, anyways, from what I've seen. But that requires quicker thinking than maybe the FO is capable of. And a bit more paperwork. Plus their vested interest in Salty, which may be the overriding factor.

The Yankees took 3 or 4 ageing castoffs from other teams nobody wanted, and turned them into chicken salad--at least for the month of April. But that was for just April. It's a long season. But some of those LHd hitters look 10 years younger hitting in Yankee stadium--which has always been the Yankees' biggest success factor, anyways.

Giving up 8 runs in less than 2 innings is not going to be the catchers fault there buddy. Webster had a bad night and the only person to blame is him.

I don't like Salty, but this time is beyond him. D and W sucked big time, plain and simple.

The only question is "why does it seem like these blowout games only happen to Salty?" Did Shop have blowouts last year? Maybe there is something about Salty not being able to calm a rattled pitcher or not mix up the pitches enough when things are going downhill?

I think it's very possible that it's things like that.

I think the problem was just an off night for Webster. I'm not defending Salty, in fact I am a huge hater of salty, but I think Webster has to bite the bullet on last nights performance. Webster has good stuff so lets not abandon ship on him just yet. I sure as hell would rather see him in the rotation over Doubront.
