Soriano with 2 more HRs tonight for the Yankees. Nice pick up by the MFYs. Reynolds went deep and ARod too. All of a sudden they are hitting a lot of HRs. Pieces of garbage didn't help us much against the Rays.

They'll die out just like Wells and Hafner.

Anyone who hates the Yankees should send J.A. Happ a fruit basket. So should the Yankees medical staff. They're getting paid because of this guy this season.

Also send Ryan Demspter a gift certificate to some store.

Yes, but Soriano is going to die to die out with 30+ bombs. Only Ortiz on the Sox has a chance to surpass that mark. Saying that a guy with 30+ bombs died out is a little silly.

Yeah but if the Yankees swept the Rays, you would be s***ing your pants about them making a late season surge and winning the AL East.

LOL! Two out of three would have been perfect.

Soriano hit like what 11 bombs in 30 days? He will not continue to keep hitting HRs. He will eventually start to slow down. I don't understand why Soriano is getting so much praise.

No? Look, if we picked up a guy and he had 11 HR and 33 RBI in 30 games, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't be s***ing on him. :D

It's not so much that Soriano is getting praised. His performance speaks for itself. The kudos go to Cashman who got him from Theo for next to nothing and Teho is paying three quarters of his salary-- a very nice acquisition.

No, we wouldn't. The part where I mentioned him being praised wasn't about what he's doing now. He is making it seem like it'll be Soriano will be the biggest piece to the Yankees success. It's not hard to outplay many players on the Yankees right now. I stated that he will decline(and he is, the numers are there to prove it) and will not keep playing this way.

Soriano will probably be our starting LFer next season with Grandy going in FA. He isn't elite anymore, but he's at a 2.5WAR this yr after putting up a 3.6WAR last yr. So while we lose Granderson for 2014, we get to keep a guy who will make $7 mil on our books while putting up a similar WAR. If you look at 2012, Granderson had a WAR of 2.3, something Soriano will beat this season. It isn't ideal, but Cashman has to come up with some sort of smoke and mirror act to get under the cap in 2014 and still be relevant.

I also think you could see NY trying to re-sign Mark Reynolds for 2014. He should come cheap and could play 3b while ARod sits. He'd give a veteran presence to a position that could be manned by rookies come the end of the yr.

I would resign Granderson. Soriano has one or two good years left, and Ichiro has 3 or 4. Keep Granderson as insurance. He's a really great player all around. He has speed, power, and great defensive capabilities.

And the part about Ichiro not being good anymore and having zero "good years" left.

I was ignoring the poor player evaluation and trying to not pile on.

With Kuroda falling apart for 3 starts, that could spell the end for the Yankees. He has been the one dependable rotation piece on the Yanks. If he falls apart, they will quickly spiral into oblivion.

Which would suck. I want the death spiral to be slow and torturous. I don't want the Yankees to go down like the Hindenburg, I want them to go down like the Titanic.

They did exactly what I didn't want them to do. I wanted either a spurious run to the playoffs, or a complete implosion. They did the worst thing. Hang on enough to deal away a prospect to try and stay afloat, only to hang near the bottom half of the draft come 2014. If you're gonna suck, you should suck a la the 2012 Red Sox

I now hope the O's lose every one of their remaining games in the most painful fashion possible and Showalter cries on national TV during the last game. Suck it O's.

I'm a huge fan of Ichiro, but I don't think he had 3-4 good years left 3-4 years ago.

Okay. Another reason to bring Grandy back.
