What the hell are you going on about?

Would you rather them give Napoli, Swisher, and Haren 8 year deals? I have no idea what your post is supposed to be about.

DFTT.

They didn't give Napoli 8 years. Swisher is getting 4 years. You going to tell me that 4 years is short term. Haren can't even get 1 year for 13.3 million. Everyone posts on this thread on every tweet that comes up from the globe and weei associates. Owe lets not give out 4 year deals because we want our prospects to come up and play the OF. Lets not do this because we have unproven talent and a s*** load of money to spend because we have historic taxes and television deal revenue to do nothing. Shut up and stop bitching about money and short term deals. No one will be pissed if Hamilton and Swisher get signed regardless how long. Then you change your response. Lackey will be off the table for 15 and he isn't even a number 5 pitcher. So how does that make your responses smarter by saying less long term deals when they signed him for what 4 years. Whats the difference between 4 and 5 years. That is a long time.

I'm arguing you guys are pretending to be Luchinno, everything he says (copy/paste) and act like your the smart one. What is the purpose of having guys that are in the prospects labeled as ready in 2013 and 2014 in the begging of the offseason? That's all you guys cared about in November. The Sox have to sign for 4 years *Swisher is going for 4 years. Not 3 , 4 . So that means 4 years isn't short term for a player that is going to keep prospects from playing. Swisher is older than Napoli. Hamilton would probably take 4 or 5 years. Then all I read is , Don't need these guys only 3 years is smarter because unproven minor leaguers are all I'm waiting for to watch all summer long. When the Sox have more money then you believe because they saved on the LA trade because of tax $ and tv revenue. They need to spend the cash out the rear to compete in the AL East.

We are posting Red Sox news during one of the funnest offseason periods on a Red Sox message board you tool..

There's been a lot of talk that teams are wary of signing Josh Hamilton to a significant long-term deal of late, but Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports isn't buying it. Morosi notes that several big-budget east coast teams can afford Hamilton, and reminds that mystery teams have emerged to sign stars like Cliff Lee and Albert Pujols in recent years. Here's the latest on Hamilton, with the most recent updates on top...

A source tells Gordon Edes of ESPNBoston.com not to rule out the Red Sox on Hamilton, pointing out that they have the money to make it happen (Twitter link).

I'm starting to think 3/75 or 4/800-100M could nab Hamilton.

Tool.... Luchinno said he would go 5 years with Hamilton, but is playing it down. Cherrington said that players that get long term deals for large amounts of money that are good deals are primarly hitters, such as Hamilton. The only bad deal that was long term recently and I mean recent was Crawford. A-Gon was decent but still over priced. Crawford was the bad deal. Beckett was gone regardless, just like Lackey. Tool

I understand the context of long term deals... In regard to top prospects that all of you claim are ready to start in 2 years. How do you justify giving 3-4 years as not putting faith into the prospects that haven't amounted to s***. When the bangers are leaving the free agent market for the next half a decade.

You guys are a bunch of pussies like you have money to play with.. You want short term deals. If they are giving 3 year deals out that means they have no long term plans for the prospects. They need to spend the money they saved from the deal, the historic site taxes, and the new television contract. And this time they have a top 10 pick.

The bolded part is pretty much exactly the opposite of what's likely true. If they gave out 5 and 6-year contracts then I'd agree with you. But a 3-year deal is a perfect length - it gives the Sox a fighting chance in the near future while giving players like Bogaerts, Brentz, Jacobs, Bradley, De La Rosa, Webster, Barnes, et al, time to mature and be ready for the majors.

It's perfect.

Do you want the Yanks to sign Hamilton...So Brentz can start OF or Bradley. Hell with both in the OF might as well pay Bucholz and Lester 18 mil a season when both start the OF.

I know what I'm saying. You guys think these guys are going to be the 2007 guys. You want short term deals which is 4 years in all reality. Which isn't that short. That's fine but to see you guys type everyday that the Sox should save their money like you have it is hilarous. It's funnier because the amount of money going to Liverpool and you want to watch that in Fenway. lol Keep saving because there isn't s*** for bangers on the market anytime soon. Go Soccer!

There are few contracts in the last 10 years of the MLB free agency that players get 7 to 8 year deals peroid. I would be surprised to see 6 years this year. So take your long term contracts and shove it up your ass.

Napoli can't be a regular catcher. As I mentioned earlier, the biggest issue or one of them with Napoli is that even as a three position player, he has not played more than 140 games at any time in his career. He has to play 1st. For the most part he has averaged far fewer games than 140. Now he is not a great 1st baseman either but he can certainly play more games at 1st without wearing down than if he does much catching.

Should be fun watching Napoli try to dig out throws from 3rd from WMB. Napoli is not that kind of 1st baseman but if last year is any indication there will be some ugly throws from WMB that Napoli will not be able to handle the way AGons and Loney did.

You guys also sound dumb as hell b/c every year the Ownership bitches about the Rotation sucking dick the past 2 years and once again they don't want to improve it. So what really do you have to root for. Save money or pay for the equivalent of 2 to 3 year deals . Keep bragging about the killer B's.

Rumors are that the Sox are in on Hamilton. I guess Cherries doesn't think pitching is a top priority. With the addition of Napoli and Gomes, the lineup would not have the over-weighted lefty problem that it had last season. There would be good balance.

I know what buttons to hit and I haven't been on here in awhile. Makes me look professional in the long run. Hamilton 5/125 mil makes me laugh at you pussies if they sign him

Is anyone on here going to be upset if Hamilton signs 5/125 deal with the Sox?

Ummm no, but that's the absolute limit. It would be a little scary.

Sox met with the Mets about Dickey today.

Mets asked for Bogaerts and Bradley Jr.

Hahahahahaha.

That's hilarious.

Mets have a grudge against us for letting them have Jason Bay.

Truth is I read the major websites everyday. Looking for an argument to get my posts up. I don't get personal in the gay chat room and then come on this board and try to work out a personal social network compainon problem from CA to MA
