Buchholz v Price

Ellsbury again in the lineup. Buchholz will absolutely dice up this awful Rays lineup.

Contrary to popular belief, the Red Sox still have 75 games left. Buchholz, and likely Gonzo, are back for this game. Crawford back Monday. Pedey back Thursday. This team is starting to get healthy. And they are only 1.5 games back in the WC.

I, for one, am not close to giving up on this team. Not with nearly half the season left and a 2nd half team that won't even resemble that abomination of a lineup we featured vs the Yankees.

Call me overly optimistic, but this team can certainly leapfrog the standings. It continues with this game. Win.

Nothing like coming back from a week long hiatus to see such logic and reason.

Great post and I agree 100%.

Ortiz has been walked 7 straight game, including 4 IBB. He needs someone to hit behind him competently. Otherwise his AL leading 1.000 OPS is for naught.

SFF' date=' your team scored a shitload of runs vs the Yankees. Your pitching just gave up a shitload more.[/quote']

Caused by what plagued the Red Sox all season so far - underperformance by the starting pitching. The starters are much, much better than how they have thrown this year, and that includes against the Yankees.

Not to mention the defensive upgrades that Middlebrooks, Ellsbury, and Crawford all bring. The fact that an AAA lineup scored so many runs against the Yankees is more telling about the Yankees than it is about the Sox offense. At least the Yankees had their A lineup going when the Sox gave up so many runs. But regardless, the Sox pitching is going to get better, certainly. Lester and Beckett both of FIPs of nearly a run lower than their ERA. And Buchholz has finally figured it out after a horrendous start.

Problem is that Adrian cant slugg right now and WMB isn't in the midst of a hot streak, yet.

Ross should be in the cleanup spot tonight.

He must still be sick. Doubt he'll go on the DL.

Stiff back yesterday. No power all season. Taking the money & run.

With Red Sox lucky this year I wouldn't be surprised if he did hit the DL. I Do not believe he will since I'm mostly just upset not to see him playing.

Either way, Buch will own this lineup... 7—9Ks.

Yeah dude, everyone who struggles is trying to scam the owner and fans. It's a big conspiracy.

Lillibridge over Gomez?

You know that wacky BV...Lillibridge is, after all, 2-5 lifetime against Price.
