Loving me some Joba this season.

And the Rays are losing too. Looking good. This keeps up, and tomorrow I can say....

Another game picked up in the standings for the hottest team in baseball. It's a great time to be a Red Sox fan.

Excellently played sir.

Yep, very, very defensive. Very defensive. I should be defensive when my team loses 2 in a row and your team is on fire, yet the Yanks are still 3 games up. Yep, scared shitless.

If you weren't defensive, you wouldn't have let us know how much you didn't care, because if you didn't care, it wouldn't be worth your trouble. Besides, my post wasn't written for complete accuracy, it was written to mock the douchebaggery of your sig. Mockery doesn't care about complete accuracy or how scared you are. All it wants is for others to laugh at you, and it struck that chord this time. The transparency of your responses only add to that laughter. Don't help mockery out.

When he added that sig, I called for him to be banned. It reads like a sig that Susan WaldMAN would have. It is vomit inducing.

Notice how he inadvertedly admitted the Sox being "On Fire"?

It isnt common knowledge? Seriously, you try to read into things all the time, and are continuously wrong. Not surprised you are wrong again. This might be the first yr since 2004 that I am truly not worried about the sox

This is kinda why you're a homer.

It's beyond denial to just say you're not worried about the Sox. Sorry, this isn't the Pittsburgh Pirates trailing now by just a game in their division. You can shake a team that doesn't belong, you can't shake the Red Sox.

I don't even get how you've said that you don't expect the Red Sox to make the playoffs. I could expect the Rays to make the playoffs, I could expect the Yankees or Red Sox to make the playoffs. We all know all three can't actually make it... but I fully envision any of these teams in the playoffs and couldn't pick any one right now as the team left out in the cold. And the way the Red Sox have been winning without Jacoby or a viable season yet from Beckett is amazing. Beckett is the key though.

Oh, and in the words of ORS:

Oh, because you haven't been trying to massively downplay the Sox' current run with comments on how their latest victories came against Arizona?

And if you don't care about it, why go out of your way to point things like "your lack of concern about the Sox out?

I don't need to read into it, your ridiculous bias is blatant.

Logic, meet Jacko, i know he doesn't like you, but damn......

Yankees going Gaga during Subway Series

Posted by Peter Abraham, Globe Staff June 20, 2010 03:05 PM

As the Red Sox make their move, the Bronx is caught up in ... Lady Gaga?

Yep. The Yankees have lost three of their last four and Alex Rodriguez is moving around like an old man on an icy sidewalk. But the big concern in the Bronx is Lady Gaga.

The singer talked her way into the clubhouse on Friday night dressed in a bikini bottom and a half-buttoned Yankees jersey. She reportedly swilled whiskey, did some things we can't mention and met with several players including Robinson Cano.

Owner Hal Steinbrenner was furious and ordered that celebrities not be allowed in the clubhouse after losses. Brian Cashman talked with reporters today and said the incident was taken care of.

"There is a time for things like that and that wasn't it. After a loss is the wrong time," Cashman said.

Then they run off two wins in a row? Maybe we should bankroll Lady Gaga to come in after every loss

I don't like her too much, but whatever works sounds good to me lol.

http://yankees.lhblogs.com/2010/06/21/colin-curtis-called-up-from-scranton/

Chad Jennings is reporting that the Yankees have called up Colin Curtis from Scranton for tonight's game. No word yet on who he will replace. He will also have to be added to the 40 man roster.

Posted
They said that Curtis would have been called up prior to his injury. Strange, though. Curtis is a guy who always looked like he had potential to be very good, but didnt produce until the AFL. He comes out this yr like gangbusters, gets hurt, slows down and shows absolutely no power, although a good eye and some doubles. Regardless, I bet Huffman gets DFAd. Curtis, to me, would be a pretty good 4th OFer. Plays good D at all 3 positions, has a good arm, above average speed (albeit not SB speed) and has a good eye. But his lack of power kills his projection

Wait, so we are about to hibernate vs a s*** pitcher again?

Crush Halladay- check

Suck against Moyer- check

Suck against Kendrick- check

Suck against Takahashi- check

Crush Pelfrey- check

Smack around Johan- check

Suck against Rodrigo Lopez- through 1 IP, check

Seriously, let's beat the f*** out of a crap pitcher for once

and we get Bad A.J. again. It's kinda funny. Just as he seems to turn a corner and dominate, he shits the bed. Then, just as we are ready to close the book on him, he goes on a 5 game run of complete dominance. He is such a f***ing enigma
Posted
It's almost to the point where this doesn't even bother me anymore. I expect them to lose every single time AJ takes the mound. People can say whatever they want about his stuff, the guy sucks, plain and simple.

He has nothing tonight. Hanging curves, fastball with no bite and elevated. Just one of those nights. y228, like I said, just as you get accustomed to his suckiness, he goes on a run. It'll probably start against the Dodgers

Sure, he'll have stretches where he's dominant, but he's just way too inconsistent. He doesn't know how to battle through a game where he has average stuff. Of all the guys that play important roles on this team, he's the one guy I wish wasn't wearing a Yankees uniform.

You guys say it in a heat-of-the-moment sense, but the Yankees really do struggle against soft-tossers and junk-ballers.

Per BB-Reference, the Yankees boast a .764 OPS against "Finesse" pitchers (as in, soft-tossers) which is more lower than their overall OPS, and OPS against average and power pitchers.
