I hate John Sterling. But it is nice to hear that the yankees win. That being said, I have now listened to a month's worth of games and would like someone to choke out that hag Waldman. She's a moron in the box and is only there because of her lack of a penis. She is a total joke. I started listening to the Baltimore feed today, and it actually made me feel good.

As much as I don't like Waldman and Sterling due to their obvious lack of talent, I've never been a fan of the O's broadcasters (at least they're not as bad as Atlanta and Tampa's lol), so I couldn't ever imagine feeling good listening to that feed lol.

In all seriousness though, Sterling might be an extremely flawed play-by-play man and Waldman is half an idiot in the booth with that nauseating voice of hers, but I do enjoy listening to them most of the time. I always liked Waldman strictly as a pre and post game reporter, as well as back in the day when she did most of her coverage for WFAN, I just cant stand her in the booth. I will say though, when she was doing YES' pre and post game shows (up until 2004 or 2005, whenever it was that she replaced Steiner in the radio booth) I thought she did an amazing job. She knows the team very well (very, very well in Wade Boggs' case  ) and did a great job in the clubhouse with interviews and such. I would definitely prefer her to Kim Jones, although Kim is much better on the eyes. A lot of it though I think has to do with the fact that like with Sterling, both have been involved with the Yankees for a very long time, and both seem to genuinely love their jobs. Their enthusiasm is clearly evident when they're doing the game, and they take a lot of pride in the fact that they call games for the Yankees, and I think that shines through and makes for a decent broadcast. I'm not saying that it compensates for their horrible game-calling abilities, but it definitely makes them at least somewhat enjoyable for me to listen to. I would definitely love though if they found a new analyst and stuck Waldman strictly with clubhouse and pre/post game duty.

She is an embarassment to the Yankee organization. Absolutely horrible. Homerism at it's worst.

Has Joba Chamberlain looked better recently?

Better than he looked before the last two times he has pitched, but still pretty far away from his capabilities. The number one concern on this team remains the bridge to Rivera.

The one positive is that he touched 97 MPH in his last outing.

With Dave Eiland away indefinitely on a personal leave of absence, bullpen coach Mike Harkey will take over his duties as pitching coach for the time being.

Girardi just said that due to personal circumstances he has o take a leave of absence and will be given as much time as he needs. Girardi also commented that things between the two of them are great, as to indicate that there is nothing going on in-house between the two and that rather it is something of a personal nature. He wouldn't comment further. Let me see if I can find the link again...

2 questions...

1) who else besides me really likes Bob Lorenz doing the play-by-play? I've always thought they should put him in the booth ever since he did a few SI Yanks games on YES a couple years back. Nice to see that they got him to fill in tonight.

2) who did the pregame, Nancy Newman?

1. For someone who never does play-by-play, he's done a decent job so far.

2. Didn't see the pre-game.

All comes down to game plan' date=' and the one they have against Bautista isn't a good one. Way too many fastballs.[/quote']

All three pitches in the second AB were four-seamers. Why?

Never like to say this in the fifth inning, especially with this offense, but this game is probably over. Cecil has been in complete command from the beginning, and the Yankees just don't have a good approach thus far. With three runs already on the board for Toronto, this one may very well be a lost cause.

AJ very rarely locates his fastball well, but he typically benefits from good life, good movement, and bad offense (or a combination of some of those things). Tonight is one of the nights where he's paying for the poor location.

And Joe reminds us why he's a poor in game manager, leaving Burnett in for an extra inning and ending any chance of the Yankees winning this game.

YANKEES LOSE, THAAA YANKEES LOSE!

Thanks Burned-out

I liked some of that TRACK... WALL... SEE YA! (thank you, Michael Kay moments) too in this game from Mr. Jose Bautista.
