Sometimes I just don't get Joe at all. Mauer and Morneau are starting off the bottom of the sixth inning. Why not go with Marte, and by the time that part of the order comes around again, it will be time to go to Joba (if the game is still in the balance). Instead he goes to Robertson.

Mauer really crushed the ball, but yeah, off Robertson and to A-Rod on a fly. It looked awful, but I guess it got him on a good spot, and he's still in the game.

I have very little faith in Joba getting through Mauer and Morneau throwing 91-92. There are other options, which I hope Joe uses.

Good win in game 1. Tied now in game 2. This lineup is f***iing pathetic right now. Kevin Russo is our best hitter right now, which is hilarious.

 

On a related note, I think Russo has won the utility guy spot. My guess is that Pena goes down to start in the middle infield for awhile

I never thought I would look at the Yankee lineup and just say that it sucks top to bottom. No ability to hit with RISP, the middle of the order is a black hole, and the only guys who were hitting arent anymore. We need to get Posada and Granderson back ASAP.

Great great win. The middle of the order is bound to heat up just in time for an easy part of the schedule. Scratching out these wins here is huge, and things should only get better over the next few weeks.

Hughes line 7IP 5H 2ER 1BB 8K. He did benefit from some good D, but looks like he's back. Aside from one inning, he was getting first pitch strikes and just dominated. Good showing. Now its up to Joba and Mo to hold a 2 run lead
