    I agree. Maybe a discussion in the off-season, but our catching is just okay enough that I wouldn't want to screw up the pitching.

    Down to 4.5 games. They'll get better when they get healthier, but it is nice closing the gap. We've also now caught TB in the Py W/L.

    When the Devers trades was made, some posters (and no small amount) said we got peanuts in return. Harrison was one of those 'peanuts'. The day he got traded to Mil, some posters couldn't believe we traded him for nothing. This happens all the time in the RSN. If Mead starts off 0-4, and Early wins his first game, it is almost guaranteed posters will say that Breslow got robbed.

    I commented to what you said: It’s kind of what’s current, and matters at the moment. I thought that discussing the guys actually currently on the team qualified as 'current'. The fact is, whether or not you want to admit it, quite a few of our prospects have worked out well. Just not 100%.

    I was being serious. I saw the thread and hadn't noticed it before. So I thought some Red Sox fans were nominating Breslow for Executive of the Year award. I thought it was a bit premature, but I wanted to see the comments about his off-season acquisitions, and they didn't sound so positive.

    If we're going to sign him as a FA for 10 years, at age 31, why do we need to trade the farm for him?

    I prefer the example of Harrison. How could we trade Devers for peanuts? How could we trade Harrison for peanuts?

    Do they have to have the expectations of Anthony? I count 8 guys on the team that came up as prospects and have done very well.

    Nice game. Getting the good Suarez back is important. Duran kind of continues to hit. Strong move to PH Joes for Yoshida. Once again, a nice job by the BP, without having to waste Chapman and Whitlock.

    I liked the Lindor idea, but with the addition of Mead, I think that's dead. Either Story returns to form next year, or Arias takes over in May. No room for any SS addition now.

    That's only if they choose to ignore the prospects that have succeeded. I'll often just shake my head and move on.

    It doesn't pay to pay attention to all the ramblings. People will create constructs to fit their narratives.

    In his last 28 days, because that's how B-R does it, KC has a .983 OPS with 2 HRs, a 2/0 SB/CS, with a 12/12 K/W in 46 ABs. That includes a high .382 BABIP.

    Just so I understand, our resident experts have determined that Anthony is: Anthony is injury-prone Anthony and Mayer are out partying instead of re-habbing. Anthony has a low pain tolerence. Can't wait for Monday's diagnosis.

    The original comment was about Breslow being reluctant to deal top prospects. Since he has already traded away top prospects, then I feel comfortable saying he is NOT reluctant to trade away top prospects. If the proof is in the pudding, and you actually have the pudding, then you also have the proof.

    Hence my point bout paying no attention to the rumors. Did any of these writers nail the Mead/Early trade?

    Based on his off-season, I think he has the best interpersonal skills in BB.

    He's more like a 3-hit wonder, since he was good in 2023, 2024, and 2025. In approximately the same number of PAs, Duran and Tatis have almost an identical fWAR over those three years.
