  1. We largely have a similar forecast on the pitching side. Crochet, Bello, Tolle, Early & Witherspoon thru 2030, and beyond.
  2. I posted the same thing on MLB-R. This trade makes me >like< the IKF trade a lot more. Now it's a good IF with IKF picking up 15 starts at 3 positions.
  3. I'm always suspicious when things work out this well. But if we get 6 seasons of the 2025 Durbin, I'm going to be a happy camper.
  4. Yup, it wasn't the deciding factor, but $32M for a DH at age 29 is not a compelling asset. He's not old, but he has 4 years age 32 and younger and 4 at 33+.
  5. They also didn't have a huge need for another OF. Happ, PCA, and Suzuki/Alcantara is good enough.
  6. Sure, you almost always do better, but every trade has a cost. I like the three guys we gave up, but they might never have been given a shot with us. It's like Priester. Even if you have talent, you have to have a path. Hamilton had no path, and Harrison was at least two injuries away from getting regular starts.
  7. I hate the sacrifice, but love bunting for a hit with 1st & 2nd with -0- outs, or just a guy on 1st.
  8. I think both guys are too low. People forget how dominant Hamilton was in 2024. 2.6 bWAR in 294 ABs is really good. He's going to be a fine UIF IMO. And Harrison becomes Priester, and all the critics will have a heyday.
  9. I'm going to say 2nd. That was his primary position in the minors
  10. Compare some of those numbers to Shaw. Kind of interesting.
  11. I liked Paredes, but we're better off With Duran + Durbin than we are with Paredes, imo.
  12. My guess is that they don't trust Durbin's size and his ability to repeat 2025. And Harrison and Hamilton have some talent, which I expect MIL to make the most of.
  13. I don't disagree. On a different team, a DH with a 112 OPS+ has real value. He provides quality ABs. It's a question of when does he start. Even a real sketchy glove like Vientos can give ABs to rest our three lefty OFs against tough lefties, as well as backing up Mayer.
  14. Masa stands out like a sore thumb in that scenario. I think he can still hit, but with Duran as the DH, Masa's value is -0-. Eat salary, add a prospect (or maybe a #7/8/9 SP during ST) and get a RH DH/IF that at least owns an IF glove.
  15. My recollection is that he had an affair with another player's wife.
  16. Okay, that's different. I was referring to teams having organizational black holes. In this case, two things: With Story's and Mayer's health issues, the depth 'could' become important. That's in addition to Hamilton's very good 2024 and very weak 2025, as well as Romy's reliance on a .378 BABIP. Just for fun, over the past two seasons, Player A (per 600 ABs) has 18 HRs and a 162/35 K/W. Player B has 18 HRs and a 162/45 K/W. And I believe that Romy will be less involved in the infield, and more involved as a RH DH. IKF & Mayer start everyday, and Romy, DHam, Wong and Masa will be the bench. I expect this to work out better than some expect.
  17. LOL! Thank you for your kind words.
  18. Just an interesting aside, when we drafted Benintendi, the scouting reports mentioned that he was already completely built out, and not to expect additional development from the maturity perspective.
  19. Not to diminish aerobics, flexibility, and balance, but no one should ignore strength. The less muscle you have, the more pressure on tendons and ligaments. It helps build bone density. It helps with ordinary functions like picking up groceries, climbing stairs. I've seen older people struggle to get out of deep-cushioned chairs. Even walking on ice is easier if you have good musculature. And God forbid you fall. You want your muscles to take the brunt of the fall rather than just the bones, ligaments, and tendons.
  20. LAD has had 4 LFs in four years, and the NYMs haven't settled on a 3B or CF for the same period.
  21. I agree. Assuming health, I expect Mayer to play 145-150 games, with only time off for the really tough lefties. For all the talk about adding a 3B, I think the FO always penciled in Mayer as out l/t 3b.
  22. Lots of teams have rotating holes. The LAD spend a gazillion $$$ and really only have 5 regular l/t guys on the field. The NYMs have like 4 guys locked into positions. I think this happens to everyone.
  23. Don't you need to know what we're trading away before you grade the quiz?
  24. Freaking Denzel is one of the finest actors of his era. And they gave him an Oscar for one of the worst movies ever made.
  25. You'll be three games worse off this year for the exchange, and can pick up a ton of young talent.
