  1. I agree for the most part, but I do think the Red Sox did want a power bat like Alonzo to go along with Bregman, but found out it was just too expensive to the Red Sox liking.
  2. Also taking the cheapest option is in line with how Breslow has handled business.
  3. An interesting discussion on the radio today on how the Red Sox have gone from Brez saying back in October that HR wins playoff games, and we need a power bat to we need someone to drive in runs to now it’s pitching, and DEFENSE. A power bat like Alonso was to expensive, and then Bregman was to expensive, and even getting Durbin after going after Neto, which was to expensive, and who knows who else the Red Sox really wanted, but it turned out to expensive to their liking. As I’ve said before this May all turn out well, but how they ended up was no where near the plan in the beginning.
  4. So in other words once again Cora isn’t putting his best lineup in the field, because he doesn’t want to ruffle feathers like with Bogey, Raffy, and now Story.🤔
  5. Durbin may turn out alright, but as McAdams said getting Durbin wasn’t a HR swing, but a double in the gap. Seems the Red Sox took several swings at Zach Neto, but struck out.
  6. Durbin 2B Story SS Mayer 3B if this is the opening day lineup what does that say to you?
  7. Where does anyone say Mayer’s is more ready to play 2B/3B?? Where did Mayer play last year when he came up? SS, 2B, or 3B? That’s an easy one. He played where there was an opening. Same thing with Roman. He played where there was an opening. Not that complicated at all. Now if you have a problem with that then you have a problem with Cora. Story is the incumbent SS, and that’s where Cora says Story will play in 2026. If you’ve got a problem with that you have a problem with Cora. With all indications this year point to Mayer either playing 3B, or 2B. Why, because that’s where there is an opening. If you’ve got a have a problem with that you have a problem with Cora. Mayer certainly hasn’t proven he can stay on the field, and be an everyday player. I can’t believe Cora doesn’t implement any of your suggestions. Wow what kind of bad manager is he?🤭
  8. You guys are always trying to talk Cora into doing something you would do. Bogey to 2B. Raffy to 1B. Casas to DH. Story to 2B. In Mayer’s case I don’t think Cora thinks Mayer is ready, or proven enough at this point to be the FT shortstop.
  9. Just going by what the Red Sox said that they would rather play Mayer at 3B I agree.
  10. If Durbin out performs Bregman, or Con Man out performs Alonso, and yes even if Raffy’s stats fall off a cliff.
  11. IKF is a good glove backup especially if Story goes down, or Mayer for that matter.
  12. I certainly don’t speak for others, but I know I will report it. Every move gets analyzed as it should, and does good, or bad.
  13. Then if by chance that happens it will be reported the same.
  14. Whoever plays 3B for the Red Sox this year are going to be compared by some to what Bregman is doing, and what Raffy is doing, and yes even though Raffy is not playing 3B. Otherwise evaluate however, and whatever you want.
  15. He already did, and quite nicely IMO.🤭
  16. Seems like the past few years they’ve been trying to lock up all the young guys even Casas.
  17. The game isn’t played on paper. The rotation does have plenty of depth, but that doesn’t mean it will be as good as it looks. I’m not counting on Chapman to be anywhere near as good as last year, so Whit may have to be counted on for more, so I’m not so sold on the pen as some. The D looks better, but Story, and Mayer will be a key there. Having enough power bats is still a concern to me. I’m not glooming, and dooming, but waiting, and seeing, and hoping for a Gomer.
  18. Maybe, but Duran has pretty much been FT the past few years anyway despite what he’s done vs LHP.
  19. It will all depend on how well Abreu hits LHP.
  20. Thanks for saying people can say what they want about Brez like they didn’t before. I’ll keep it at meh right now on a wait, and see if Not getting a mega big bat will cost them in the long run.
  21. Well he didn’t, so after a good start he was pretty much much Suspect after that, and so much so he never came back up to Boston.
  22. Who’s playing 3B for the Giants this year?
  23. Fair to point out as is it is to point out it’s an entirely different situation.
