I’m going more on what Raffy did in the past in a Red Sox uniform and playing in Fenway. I think it’s more speculation on whatever you’re going on like wishful thinking.🤔
I agree, but there was so much hype, and expectations put on Mayer, and Anthony just getting here, and especially on Anthony this year, so I agree that shouldn’t have happened.
IMO is not a fact. After a not so stellar start to the season he had settled in quite nicely as the DH. I saw, and see no reason that would change if Breslow would have left him alone. He loved playing in Boston, and it’s a whole different atmosphere in SF.
Pretty much everyone said the Red Sox needed a 2B/3B in the offseason and Mayer would handle which ever one they didn’t get. I didn’t hear a lot of, but he’s only a 23 year old with only 300 MLB at bats. I did question his bat though.
Like I keep saying if he had stayed in a Red Sox uniform he not only would be putting up better numbers now, but better numbers last year including the postseason season where he could have made a difference IMO.
The Red Sox had a chance to move up to Fred’s 4th place in the standings, but instead lost another series at home going back to 9 games UNDER for the season and a embarASSing 10-21 at Fenway. A rinky dink MICKEY MOUSE operation from JH on down.
The Red Sox lost their best opener when they let the Bern Man go.🤔it not like BBB can’t pitch once you get him past the ist inning. He’s not a rookie, so I don’t know how going to Woo is going to help him from being a head case.
You use fWAR, and I’ll use HR, RBI, and TB things that actually show up on the scoreboard like what Alonso did last night. HR, and 2 RBI = difference in the ballgame. Different wants, and different needs.
I’m not faulting Con Man for anything. I’m just saying that up to now in their career stats that Con Man is not in the same category as Alonso when it comes to power numbers HR, RBI, and TB. Con Man as I’ve said before was a settle instead of Alonso.
I have nothing against the Con Man, but Alonso is getting warmer, and has gone ahead in HR, and RBI. I’ll take it. Con Man is only there, because he came cheaper for a shorter period of time.
I know many like rankings, and projections, but I think they’re pretty useless. Progress might not be linear, but with 2 more K’S for KC last night, and as they pile up I wouldn’t call that much progress¡ or development.
Plain, and simple KC is 39-167 .234 with 2 HR, and 19 RBI not to mention 63 K’S. Just for May KC was 12-64 with 1 HR, and 6 RBI to go along with 29 K’S.
I said before the season started that providing both the Con Man, and Alonso stayed healthy that Alonso would put up better numbers than the Con Man just like he always has, and I see nothing to change that opinion now.
Another lackluster performance from the Red Sox at Fenway last night, and now stand at 9-20 at the not so friendly Fenway to go along with being 9 games under 500 on the season. That 9 games under 500 seems so far away at the moment to get back to let alone going over it.
